What is this role:
  • E-Space is seeking a Head of Export and Trade Compliance toย join our globalย team.ย ย Thisย hands-on leadership role calls for a senior professional who canย help shapeย regulatory strategy,ย effectively manage and grow theย function, and remainย closely engagedย in theย day-to-dayย work.ย Qualifiedย candidatesย shouldย haveย comprehensive knowledge in international trade compliance, adept project management skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.ย 

  • This position will report to theย Deputyย Generalย Counsel (or their designee) and will work closely with Procurement, Legal,ย Engineering,ย and Finance. This positionย isย ย basedย at ourย Arlington,ย Texasย Headquarters. Exceptionallyย well qualifiedย candidates in other locations may be considered.ย 

What you will do:
  • Oversee the globalย Export and Tradeย Complianceย functionย to support our growing business and international footprint.ย ย ย ย 

  • Developย and operationalize robust internal controls, governance, and scalable processes forย internationalย tradeย compliance across multiple sites andย entities.ย 

  • Establish documentation standards, training programs, and operating procedures to support the function as it grows; conduct trainings for employees and contractorsย 

  • Build the team: hire and manage a team of skilled trade compliance and export professionals who deliver high-quality,ย timelyย serviceย the business while ensuring compliance.ย 

  • Conduct and oversee exportย jurisdictionย andย classificationย determinationsย (CCL/USML).ย 

  • Serveย asย the Empowered Official (EO), ensuring the effective and compliant execution of the export/import program.ย 

  • Interpret U.S. trade regulations (ITAR, EAR, FTR, OFAC, and Customs) andย provideย strategicย guidance to internal stakeholdersย on licensing and productย developmentย strategy.ย 

  • Interface with the Government Contracts and Security teams to ensure cross-functional compliance.ย ย 

  • Draft, oversee, andย provideย strategic guidanceย regardingย US and international export licensing submissions and manage export and temporary import license applications.ย 

  • Conductย deemedย export reviews andย ensureย compliance with relevant regulations.ย 

  • Interface with U.S. government agencies on export and import-related matters.ย 

  • Maintainย accurateย records of all trade compliance activities, conduct self-audits, and oversee external audit responses.ย 

  • Stay informed about changes in export control laws and regulations, providing analysis of their applicability and impact.ย 

  • Supportย the Supply Chain Teamย regardingย internationalย shipping andย import/exportย compliance.ย Ensure compliance with Customs processes and associated requirements.ย 

  • Review supplier terms and conditions, where applicable.ย 

  • Perform other duties withinย scopeย ofย role asย assigned.ย 

What you will bring to this role:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree and 10 years of prior experience in U.S. export and import compliance (or equivalent combinations of education and experience).ย 

  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. export laws and regulations, including ITAR, EAR, FTR, OFAC, and Customs regulations.ย 

Bonus points:
  • 15+ years of experience in U.S. export and import compliance
  • Demonstrated understanding of export laws and regulations in multiple countries
  • Juris Doctor degreeย
