Ryerson Advanced Processing is seeking a dynamic and driven Outside Sales Engineer to support both direct customers and advanced processing opportunities. This role blends outside sales responsibility with technical engineering expertise, focusing on developing fabrication solutions, building strong customer relationships, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate will serve as a key link between customers, internal sales engineering teams, and external processing partners while expanding market share and delivering high-value fabricated part solutions. This position is supporting a territory from North Dakota to Wisconsin. We are looking for a candidate that resides in Minnesota.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities within assigned territories and accounts
  • Engineering fabricated part supply chains based on customer requirements and technical specifications
  • Managing relationships with customers by establishing and cultivating strategic partnerships
  • Collaborating with inside sales engineers to develop quotes, cost models, and technical solutions
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external processors to execute projects from quote through delivery
  • Providing technical support related to materials, fabrication processes, and design optimization
  • Managing pricing, forecasting, contract terms, and negotiation processes
  • Resolving customer service, quality, or pricing issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Planning and executing sales strategies to meet revenue, margin, and growth targets
  • Communicating market insights and customer feedback to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • 3-5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, equipment, manufacturing, technical sales, or related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/CAD files and specifications.
  • Experience with CRM/ERP systems such as Salesforce or SAP preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to develop business and grow customer relationships.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50-75% as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience preferred.

Salary: $66,768.08- $100,152.12 annually. A starting salary higher than $66,768.08 annually is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
