Communications Coordinator
Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Freedom House exists to SHOW PEOPLE WHO JESUS IS. This means every person we hire must have a
heart to reach lost people and a love for the Church. God is writing an unlikely story here in the Midwest
and we deeply believe God is readying His Church for a historic movement that brings glory to HIS name
alone.
The Communications Coordinator will be the organizer and executor of all communications systems. They
will be responsible for communicating the events and story of Freedom House using the designated
avenues as the Creative Lead depicts. This person is the door and holder of plans for social media,
website, app, etc. They work with the team to outline what happens on what platform and when while being
the one to push “go” on different platforms.

15-20 Hours a week
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
● A mature relationship with Jesus Christ that is clear and evident
● Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written, and strategy building skills
● A strong team player and collaborator
● Projects a professional and confident image and is able to handle a stressful pace
● Ability to handle confidential information
● Passion to see the people know, experience, and serve Jesus
● Strong social media skills
● Must be a creative contributor to the team and not just a “doer” of projects.
● This role may include work outside of normal business hours
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:
● A strong mastery or ability to learn Macbook products
● A strong mastery or ability to learn Google Workspace
● A strong mastery or ability to learn Social Media platforms
● A strong mastery or ability to learn Planning Center Online
● A strong mastery or ability to learn Adobe, Canva, and Photoshop
● Ability to work with BILL financial system and other financial systems that the church implements
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordination of Communication
● Maintain and update the church’s website (with ChurchCo as our web manager).
● Manage and outline social media content with ideas and collaboration alongside the Creative Lead.
Upon occasion, the content will require a graphic or set of photos to be edited.
● Facilitate internal communication within the church, including the bulletin, announcements, and
other updates.
● Collaborate with the Creative Lead to communicate the church’s vision and mission on specialty
projects.
● Monitor and manage the church’s online reputation, including responding to comments and queries
on social media. Essentially, engage with followers and monitor analytics to track engagement
levels.
● Oversee the outline for the newsletters with the Executive Coordinator putting it together and
sending it out appropriately.
● Oversee communication systems for how events and ministries are promoted. This will mean
training staff on best practices and systems. This will require clarity on due dates, timing, and the
ability to say no when people work outside of the systems.
Team Collaboration
● Attend necessary meetings as decided by the Creative Lead.
● Collaborate with the Technical Lead in planning and executing videos for communications and
social platforms.
● Build a large collaborative calendar that the FH team will adhere to.
● Collaborate with Creative Lead on projects to be the executor of vision and strategy.
● Build a Social Media Team of volunteers to broaden the face and story while maintaining the voice
of FH.
