HERITAGE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Advance the mission of Heritage Christian School through effective support of school marketing and communications programs.
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS: The employee must be a Christian with an authentic and a mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ, who agrees to the HCS Statement of Faith, Charter of Core Values and Employee Covenant in both their professional conduct and personal lifestyle. The employee is committed to incorporating these qualities and standards in carrying out the calling to Christian education. In addition, the ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships, representing Christ and HCS professionally and positively with the HCS community-at-large, including faculty and staff, Board members, parents, volunteers and others is crucial to the success of this role.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or a similar field is required. Extensive related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. A minimum of 3-5 years of marketing and/or communications experience is required. Experience working in Christian education is a plus.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Content gathering and storytelling. Research, gather, assemble and maintain stories, photos, video and marketing content, utilizing available resources as needed.
  • Participate with the Admissions Department on strategic marketing and communications initiatives to ensure effective enrollment and retention campaigns.
  • Advertising coordination and execution. Create effective advertising programs, utilizing tools such as PPC advertising, media partnerships, outdoor advertising, radio/TV, HCS website, social media, word-of-mouth campaigns and print publications to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Social media coordination. Promote Heritage on social media, engaging with all academic school levels and all extracurricular programs and activities. Monitor and serve as a gatekeeper for all public-facing Heritage social media activity and online commentary.
  • Assist with development of direct response marketing materials (Heritage Fund, SGO E and postal appeals, and other campaigns as needed)
  • Provide pre-planning and day-of special event support (Back-to-School Event, Golf Outing, Homecoming, Fun Run, Admissions events, Fine Arts Events, Spring Banquet, other events as needed). Includes mascot program coordination.
  • Provide brand and identity management controls and services.
  • Provide support to Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) activities and events.
  • Special project marketing and support as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to meet physical requirements of the position. The majority of the tasks of this position require using a computer. There is required interaction with others through face-to-face or telephone contact. The position generally includes remaining stationary for extensive periods of time. Exposure to all types of weather during the course of the day is possible, but the majority of the work is performed indoors. Moving up to 25 pounds may be expected.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office setting; works alone and with others; some exposure to weather traversing around campus or at working outdoor events.
WORK SCHEDULE: This is a full time, 12-month position, M-F. Regular business hours are 7:30 am-4:00 pm. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend events throughout the year.
