The Campus Auxiliaries Communications and Marketing team manages strategic and operational communications and marketing for the units whose essential services keep IU Bloomington (IUB) welcoming, running, and thriving. This team supports the goals of IUB 2030 , specifically Goal 3, Student Success and Opportunity, Access, Wellness, and Student Support: IUB will foster a student community that stimulates a strong sense of engagement and well-being among all students.
Job Summary
Department Specific Responsibilities
  • Manages all aspects of the department's project management system, including project intake, workflow management, task assignments, and progress tracking.
  • Develops and maintains organized project filing systems that enable efficient tracking by project type, client, timeline, and priority.
  • Creates project plans, assign tasks and subtasks, and coordinate workload across team members to ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between campus partners and the communications/marketing team by clarifying project requests, gathering requirements, and managing expectations.
  • Coordinates a wide range of communications and marketing projects, including social media campaigns, annual reports, website updates, digital signage, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Conducts weekly 1-on-1 meetings with team members to review project status, remove obstacles, and ensure timely completion of assigned work.
  • Facilitates project status updates during team meetings by communicating priorities, clarifying roles, and confirming deadlines and deliverables.
  • Creates and distributes email communications and newsletters through CRM/email marketing platforms, including Salesforce.
  • Assists with website planning by developing wireframes and supporting content and user experience planning.
  • Collaborates with strategy and creative teams to develop project timelines, allocate resources, and monitor project milestones.
  • Conducts market research and survey analysis to support communications, marketing strategy, audience engagement, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Supports digital marketing best practices by helping ensure AI, SEO, and web content compliance.
General Responsibilities
  • Manages multiple simultaneous projects of all sizes for entire communications and marketing team. Develops project plan(s) and efficiently analyzes, tracks, forecasts, and reports on project metrics and shortfalls.
  • Reports on progress and provides regular updates to upper management.
  • Coordinates and communicates between various areas; conducts project meetings and prepares regular reports.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure that project objectives are achieved within established time frames.
  • May provide guidance and support to non-exempt staff.
