Job description

SUMMARY

To act as a physical loss prevention deterrent for the store and company. To protect store property, assets, customers and Associates through proper utilization of NFI Loss Prevention policies and procedures. To respond to emergency store situations and disturbances that may occur at any of the area stores that he/she is responsible for. Use store and company security systems to monitor the store operations for potential loss and safety concerns. To assist with or conduct internal Associate investigations and interviews.ย To assist in the supervision on all NFI Loss Prevention Associates within his/her Store group area

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Looks for and investigation of potential internal associate theft situations
  • Investigation of any internal store issue requested
  • Responds to emergency situations or disturbances that may threaten the store, customers or associates
  • Apprehension and arrest of shoplifters
  • Complete detailed Reports
  • Observation of customer & Associate actions
  • Provide a Safe & Customer Friendly Store environment
  • Communicates and assists Law Enforcement with any needed request
  • Keeps Store Management and Asset Protection Manager up to date with any security or safety concerns and issues
  • Oversees training and scheduling needs of any NFI LP Associates or Customer Service LP Security Guards that may be assigned to them
  • Follows and understands all company policies and procedures
  • Able to successfully complete REID Techniques of Interviewing & Interrogation training, company use of force policy training, as well as first aid, first responder training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for supervising Store Loss Prevention Agents and Customer Service Loss Prevention Security Guards assigned to their Store Group area of responsibilities.
  • Responsible of assisting in the training of any new Loss Prevention Associate, which is assigned to their area group of stores.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience required.ย 
  • Completed or in the process of completing a college or technical school education in criminal justice/law enforcement or a minimum of 3 to 6 months related work experience or training or past military security training and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.ย 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.ย 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers, or Associates.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discount, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume.ย
