  • Serve as our point person for all employee payroll questions.

  • Confirm that all weekly timesheets are free of exceptions and approved by a supervisor before processing.
  • Analyze and compare new hire and termination information betweenWorkday and the HR submission file prior to each payroll run.
  • Verify that all changes on the HR submission file are reflected accurately in Workday.
  • Prepare, update and retain payroll reports for the annual financial audit.
  • Run our weekly new hire payroll orientation.
  • Support the reconciliation and recording of salary and benefit expenses.
  • Set up new state and local tax jurisdictions in Workday for all entities and confirm that jurisdictions are accurate and complete for all new hires and employee changes.
  • Maintain the integrity of the data within the payroll system.
  • Administer all garnishments in ADP Smartcompliance and follow up with the issuing authority when necessary.
  • Work closely with our People team on payroll reporting and employee needs.
  • Download, save and analyze payroll invoices and statements.
  • Process and settle all off-cycle and on-demand payments.
  • Train and develop our offshore team members on payroll processing activities so they can provide support and back-up.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as Devoted grows.
Required skills and experience
  • Multi-jurisdiction bi-weekly payroll processing experience in Workday including multi-state tax compliance.
  • 3+ years of experience covering full-cycle payroll processing, tax filings and adjustments Experience working with ADP SmartCompliance for tax filings, amended filings, and wage garnishments.
  • Working knowledge of US federal, state and local withholding tax requirements.
  • Strong payroll and payroll tax skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • A demonstrated track record of accurate work in a high-volume payroll environment.
  • Experience processing manual payroll adjustments (for both wages and taxes ).
  • You are a team player with great customer service skills.
  • Critical thinking skills along with sound judgment and strong decision-making abilities.
Desired skills and experience
  • A Proactive approach to identifying and correcting problems.
  • Ability to research tax law and apply to payroll and jurisdiction setup.
  • Well versed in spreadsheets and databases, and comfortable working with large data sets.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Committed to employee support - you ask a lot of questions.
