What We Do

AM Engineering sits at the center of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, building missioncritical platforms that power trading, risk management, and investment decisionmaking across global markets. Our engineering teams partner closely with investment professionals to deliver scalable, resilient, and intuitive systems across a global, multiasset business including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and alternatives.

Within AM Trading Technology, we design and evolve frontoffice trading platforms that operate at the pace of markets and adapt continuously to new products and strategies.

Role Overview

As a Vice President Software Engineer on the AM Trading Technology team, you will be a senior individual contributor focused on building and enhancing derivatives trading workflows on our frontoffice trading platform. You will work closely with traders, portfolio managers, and other engineers to deliver highquality, productionready software that directly supports investing and trading activities.

This role is intended for experienced developers who enjoy being handson, solving complex problems in real trading systems, and contributing deep technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable trading workflows within AWM's trading and order management systems
  • Build and enhance userfacing applications and supporting services for realtime trading and monitoring
  • Work directly with traders and portfolio managers to understand workflows and translate requirements into working software
  • Contribute to system design discussions with a focus on practical, maintainable solutions
  • Write highquality, welltested code with strong attention to performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams across New York and Bengaluru
  • Participate in code reviews and production support for businesscritical trading systems
  • Leverage AIassisted development tools (e.g., coding copilots, test generation, code analysis) to improve productivity and software quality

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong handson experience building productiongrade systems in complex domains
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, TypeScript, Python, or similar
  • Experience building rich, workflowheavy user interfaces using React or Angular
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and eventdriven architectures
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and nontechnical partners

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Experience with frontoffice derivatives trading systems (options, futures, swaps, structured products)
  • Familiarity with trading workflows, order lifecycles, or market data
  • Prior use of AIassisted development tools in a professional engineering environment
