Interior Designer – Commercial Health & Fitness

Chanhassen, MN | Direct Hire | $70k - $87k | On-site

Do you have a passion for creating spaces that inspire and promote well-being? Konik is partnering with a well-respected, locally based company to add an Interior Designer to their team. As an Interior Designer, you will work closely with an architectural team to develop wellness, commercial, and hospitality-based projects. This role focuses on the design phase, translating functional and aesthetic requirements into comprehensive interior design plans while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team and business partners.

Interior Designer Responsibilities

  • Develop interior design plans for new and remodeled commercial projects, including layouts, elevations, millwork, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Conduct space planning, programming, and ergonomic analysis to optimize functionality and aesthetics.
  • Prepare contract documents, specifications, and documentation for construction administration.
  • Review and process submittals, RFIs, and change management documentation during construction.
  • Conduct site observations and collaborate with project teams to ensure design intent is executed accurately.
  • Coordinate with FF&E manager and vendors for product selection, specifications, and installation.
  • Mentor interns and technicians as needed to support project deliverables.
  • Travel during construction phases to the Western U.S.

Interior Designer Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program.
  • CID/NCIDQ certification preferred
  • 2+ years of interior design experience with commercial building projects, preferably from an architectural firm.
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Experience with Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and MS Office
  • Strong understanding of interior design principles, theory, and commercial project requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
