Job description

Examples of Duties Performed:
  • Direct the overall operation of the Skilled Nursing Services Department to centers on an as-needed/temporary basis in accordance with the organization's established guidelines and current federal and state regulations to provide appropriate care
  • Direct, evaluate, and supervise patient care as necessary
  • Educate, lead, mentor, and supervise department associates
  • Communicate with patients, associates, visitors and family members in an approachable and professional manner

To be considered for this opportunity applicants must:
  • Have a nursing degree from an accredited college or university and a current Georgia RN license in good standing
  • Have prior DON experience in a long-term care setting. Nurse consulting experience in long term care preferred
  • Must be able to travel throughout state as needed for Interim DON assignments. Frequent overnight stays may be required
  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Maintain effective working relationships with residents, family members, department heads and fellow staff
