Reports to: Business Intelligence Specialist
Classification: Temporary, Intern, Part-Time (20-25 hours), Non-Exempt
Duration: July 20, 2026 - October 9, 2026
Location: Burbank, CA (Hybrid)
Compensation: $18.00/ hourly

Job Overview
The Business Intelligence Intern will support PBS SoCal's reporting and analytics workflows by supporting data needs, including producing KPI reports, and assisting with data organization and visualization.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Extract, organize and report on data from Tableau dashboards, YouTube Analytics, and internal sources
  • Edit and update Excel spreadsheets, including adjusting formulas, pivot tables, and reporting templates
  • Perform data cleaning, validation, and organization to ensure accuracy
  • Generate recurring reports (KPI tracking, departmental reports, YouTube performance summaries)
  • Create and edit data graphs and other data visualizations to communicate key findings
  • Update and edit PowerPoint presentations or stakeholders or cross functional use
  • Identify trends and patterns in audience, content performance, and KPIs
  • Conduct industry and audience research to inform decision-making
  • Provide basic insights and summaries to support strategic initiatives
Qualifications:
  • Familiarity and/or interest in Media & Entertainment
  • Interest in working with data and translating it into clear trends, insights, and actionable takeaways
  • Proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data organization)
  • Experience with or willingness to learn data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in data cleaning, validation, and reporting accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines independently
  • Basic understanding of analytics platforms (e.g., YouTube Analytics, Google Analytics) is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly to non-technical audiences

Work Environment
The working conditions are primarily a telecommuting setting. However, the position will require some mandatory and optional off-site travel to our Burbank, CA and Costa Mesa, CA offices, printers and/or other locations as needed.
