Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA-Per Diem) for Home Care Team
Multiple Shifts -1st shift (8:00 am- 4:00 pm), (4:00 pm - 10:00pm)-Hours may vary based upon need.
OUR NEEDS:
Seeking Certified Nursing Assistants positions for our Home Care team with open availability (minimum of 24 hours per month or 6 shifts) plus weekends (minimum of 3 shifts) weekend shifts per month; shifts are a minimum of 4 hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the RN Case Manager the following personal care duties may be performed in assisting the client:
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Ambulation
  • Eating, meal preparation
  • Dressing
  • Shaving
  • Toileting
  • Clean Dressing

Performs duties as taught by RN Case Manger for specific client. These may include:
  • Shampoo
  • Assisting with the use of devices required for daily living (i.e. Walker, wheelchair, prescribed ice cap or collar, crutches or cane)

Other essential duties/responsibilities:
  • Any other duties of a Certified Nurse's Aide as described in the North Carolina Board of Nursing scope of practice.
  • Assists with prescribed range of motion exercised under the supervision of the individual(s) in charge of the case.
  • As assigned, measures and prepares special diets. Record intake and output. Encourages and offers fluids to provide adequate oral intake.
  • Records personal and therapeutic health care activities.
  • Observes appearance and behavioral changes in the client and reports to the RN Case Manager.
  • Follows infection control standard precautions and safety policies per agency, state and federal regulations. Uses personal protective equipment as needed.
  • Maintains clean and neat client environment.
  • Assists client to meet socialization needs. Accompanies client to activities. Helps client maintain dignified quality of life.
  • According to state and federal guidelines handles clean, soiled and contaminated linen as instructed and properly disposes of waste material.
  • HCA/PCA activity sheets and times slips are submitted to the staffing coordinator weekly.
  • Responds quickly and courteously to requests of the clients and health care team.
  • Performs assigned tasks in the following emergencies as described by policy:
  • Fires
  • Electrical Failures
  • Disasters, including severe weather as defined by NOAA.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client information.
  • As instructed, provides medication reminders.
  • Read and record temperature, pulse, respiration and weight.
  • Maintains compliance with safety program and reports all incidents/accidents to the RN Case Manager/ Home Care Administrator immediately.
  • Follows established guidelines of communications and authority.
  • Dependable in regards to attendance, tardiness, etc.
  • Accepts responsibility for completing assignments once it has been accepted.
  • Must interact courteously, tactfully and politely with managers, co-workers, residents, vendors or associates to preserve productivity and moral.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Qualified Candidates preferably will have at least one year of CNA experience in a home-based setting.
  • All candidates must be listed in good standing as a CNA on the NC CNA Registry
