Position Overview

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for an Accounts Receivable Coordinator to become an essential member of our accounting team.  In this role, you will be processing accounts receivable related activity while following established policies and procedures. It is a hybrid role which will involve mainly working from home. There will be the occasional occurrence that in office presence is requested for collaboration and teambuilding.

What You'll Do

  • Applying customer payments to appropriate trade receivables in accounting system
  • Reconciling customer payment activity to bank deposits
  • Communicating and following up with customers
  • Collaborating and working with the accounts receivable team including the team manager
  • Reviewing accounts receivable aging
  • Assist in special projects as needed
  • This is a remote role but only local to the Chicago market

We're Excited to Learn More About You 

Your experience may include: 

  • Minimum 1-3 years of practical accounting/bookkeeping experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and other Microsoft products
  • Understanding of core concepts related to collections including accounts receivable, cash application, customer communication, and management
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting terminology and procedures
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred; however, we highly value equivalent professional experience and encourage candidates with a strong accounting background to apply.

You may have other skills or credentials, including:

  • Oracle NetSuite Experience
  • Familiarity with accounting for foreign currencies such as the Canadian Dollar
  • Self-Motivated, Eagerness to Learn
  • Excellent Communication Skills and Organized
  • Trustworthy, Dependable, & Reliable

Our targeted starting base salary in the United States for this position ranges from $46,000 - $54,500. To determine a new team member's starting pay, we consider a variety of factors, including someone's depth, breadth, and variety of experience, skills, and responsibilities. Depending on the role, team members may also be eligible to participate in additional compensation plans such as bonus and commission.
