Job description

Job Description

Team: Carrier Product Marketing

Salary Range: $150,000–$180,000 USD

Location: Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Lincoln, or Toronto (Hybrid)

This position operates in a hybrid model, with in-office collaboration 1-2 days a week from our Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Lincoln, or Toronto offices, plus occasional travel.

Opportunity for Impact

Applied is where insurance technology gets reinvented, and we build it fast. Our cloud software and AI-powered solutions reach thousands of agencies and brokers worldwide, setting the pace for what modern insurance can do.

We’re looking for a Director, Product Marketing to join our Carrier Product Marketing team and lead product marketing strategy for Applied’s carrier-facing portfolio, driving growth with insurance providers globally.

This is a strategic role, as the carrier segment is a key growth vector for Applied. This leader will own product positioning, launch strategies, and product marketing team leadership, partnering closely with Product Management, Sales, and Marketing. The carrier function is still early in its scale curve, offering a clear path to senior leadership growth as the business expands.

What You’ll Do
  • Set the product marketing strategy for the carrier segment, owning positioning, narrative, and market direction across Cytora, Ivans, and all carrier-facing capabilities globally
  • Translate complex, technical carrier capabilities into narratives and visuals that resonate with non-technical executives, owning the visual language across diagrams, one-pagers, and demos
  • Own naming and brand architecture decisions across Cytora, Ivans, and the broader Applied Carrier portfolio
  • Build, lead, and develop a team of product marketers covering Cytora and Ivans, establishing the carrier PMM operating model — including AI tooling and scalable systems — as the business grows
  • Partner with Product Management and Operations leadership on roadmap, positioning, and pricing, and with Sales, Customer Success, and Demand Gen to drive pipeline, competitive win rate, and adoption
  • Govern the launch process for carrier-facing products, ensuring cross-functional alignment and strong launch outcomes
  • Drive carrier market and competitive intelligence, and build relationships with industry analysts focused on the carrier and insurtech ecosystem
  • Own a systematic win/loss and customer research program, feeding findings into positioning, roadmap, and competitive strategy
  • Own and report on PMM-influenced metrics for the carrier segment — pipeline contribution, win rate, adoption, and launch outcomes
  • Champion and contribute to Applied PMM's use of AI tooling, custom skills, and scalable systems to compound team impact.
What We’re Looking For
  • 8-10+ years in B2B product marketing, with 3-5+ years of people management experience
  • Proven track record leading product marketing for a high-growth segment, new product category, or emerging business unit in enterprise SaaS
  • Demonstrated ability to build the PMM function for a smaller, scaling team, operating with a builder’s mindset and partnering closely with senior leadership
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including comfort representing the company with analysts, partners, and at industry events
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field

Bonus points if you also have:

  • Experience in insurance, insurtech, financial services, or another regulated B2B industry
  • Experience working in AI-forward marketing teams or driving AI adoption within marketing functions
  • Strong financial acumen and experience contributing to business case development, pricing strategy, and segment investment planning
  • Data-driven mindset with a proven ability to use analytics to guide GTM strategy
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field; MBA a plus

Talent shows up in a lot of different ways, and we mean that. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and experience levels, including military members and their spouses and those without a traditional degree or tech background.
