Job description

About Reserv
Reserv is an insurtech creating and incubating cutting-edge AI and automation technology to bring efficiency and simplicity to claims. Founded by insurtech veterans with deep experience in SaaS and digital claims, Reserv is venture-backed by Bain Capital and Altai Ventures and began operations in May 2022. We are focused on automating highly manual tasks to tackle long-standing problems in claims and set a new standard for TPAs, insurance technology providers, and adjusters alike. We have ambitious (but attainable!) goals and need people who can work in an evolving environment. If building a leading TPA and the prospect of tackling the long-standing challenges of the claims role sounds exciting, we can't wait to meet you.
The Director of Personnel Security leads the human-facing dimension of Reserv's security program including the controls, capabilities, and obligations that govern how people enter, operate within, and exit the organization. Reporting to the VP of Security, this role owns insider threat detection and deterrence, identity and access management, travel security, and the company's duty of care to its workforce. It is both a builder role, standing up programs that do not yet exist at scale, and an operator role, running the day-to-day capabilities that keep Reserv's people, data, and operations protected.
This role is about trust at scale. Personnel security sits at the intersection of what Reserv extends to its people and what it must verify, protect, and on occasion investigate. The Director will build a unified program that treats identity, access, and insider risk as a single instrumented discipline that is measurable against the security organization's OKRs and credible to executive, legal, and law enforcement audiences. Success demands technical depth, programmatic rigor, and discretion in equal measure: the ability to design systems that scale, to investigate when warranted, and to handle the organization's most sensitive matters with sound judgment and absolute confidentiality.
Job Duties
  • Develop a duty of care program such that personnel security is holistically included in the security mission
  • Develop, monitor, and run the capabilities necessary to detect and deter insider threats
  • Establish identity and access management as a program function within the security organization, including but not limited to joiners/leavers, SSO federation programs, and all aspects of identity and role-based access control
  • Develop metrics and monitoring capabilities that support the OKRs within the security mission
  • Operationalize travel security programs to support the organizational needs at scale
  • Demonstrate exceptional levels of confidence and confidentiality that are indicative in trust across all areas of the domain

Requirements
  • Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in cybersecurity and personnel security positions
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience with executive audiences
  • Experience working with law enforcement and other information-sharing organizations

Icing on the Cake
  • Cybersecurity or security certifications
  • Law enforcement or counterintelligence experience
  • Experience working internationally and in regulated environments

Benefits
  • Generous health-insurance package with nationwide coverage, vision, & dental
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching
  • Competitive PTO policy - we want our employees fresh, healthy, happy, and energized!
  • Generous family leave policy after 8 months of continuous work
  • Work from anywhere to facilitate your work life balance
  • Apple laptop, large second monitor, and other quality-of-life equipment you may want. Technology is something that should make your life easier, not harder!

At Reserv, we value diversity in backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences and believe that diversity in viewpoints and critical thinking drives innovation, first-principles thinking, and success. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage those from all walks of life to apply. If you believe you are a good fit for this role, we would love to hear from you!
