Job description

MARCELA JOHNSON AGENCY

Insurance Sales Producer

âš¡ This Isn't a Job. It's a Career You Build.

If you're the type who needs a push to pick up the phone — this role isn't for you. But if you thrive in a fast-paced environment, know how to turn relationships into results, and are hungry to grow your income while building something that's yours — keep reading.

At the Marcela Johnson Agency, we're building something special. We're a newer, growth-focused insurance agency where every producer has the rare opportunity to establish and grow their own book of clients from the ground up. We're not looking for seat-warmers. We're looking for competitors.

About the Role

As an Insurance Sales Producer, you'll be the engine that drives the agency forward. You'll prospect, quote, and close across multiple product lines — and you'll do it with purpose, persistence, and a genuine desire to protect families and businesses.

This is a full-time, hourly position with uncapped commission and performance bonuses. Translation: your ceiling is only as high as your ambition.

What You'll Be Selling

You'll be a true cross-sell producer across our full product portfolio:

• Auto Insurance

• Homeowners / Renters Insurance

• Commercial Lines (Business Insurance)

• Life Insurance

The ability and willingness to cross-sell across all product lines is required — our top producers don't leave money on the table, and neither should you.

Compensation

• Competitive hourly base pay — your safety net while you build

• Commission on every policy you write — no cap, no ceiling

• Performance bonuses tied to production milestones

• Ongoing earning potential as your book of business grows

We believe in paying people what they're worth. Producers who show up and execute earn accordingly.

What We're Looking For

We'll be direct: this role will challenge you. Sales is not a smooth ride. Rejection is real, timelines shift, and clients need education before they buy. We need people who are built for that.

• Resilient — you bounce back from a 'no' ready to dial again

• Self-motivated — you don't need someone standing over you to produce

• Money-driven — financial goals are your compass, not your afterthought

• Relationship-oriented — you naturally build trust and rapport

• Coachable — willing to learn our systems and grow within them

• Organized — you manage a pipeline, not just conversations

If the idea of slow days makes you uncomfortable and a sales board gets you fired up — you'll fit right in here.

Your Natural Market & COIs Are an Asset

One of the most powerful advantages you bring to this role is who you already know. We actively encourage producers to leverage their natural market — family, friends, community — and their Centers of Influence (COIs) such as mortgage brokers, real estate agents, auto dealers, and business owners.

Your existing network isn't just a starting point — it's a competitive edge. We'll help you turn those connections into referral pipelines that keep paying you long after the first conversation.

Why Join Us Now?

Being part of a growing agency early is rare. You're not walking into a stagnant territory or an oversaturated office. You're getting in at the ground floor of an agency with real momentum — and that means:

• A defined client base you build and own

• Room to grow into leadership as we scale

• Direct access to agency leadership — not corporate bureaucracy

• A culture where top performers are recognized and rewarded

• Advancement opportunities as new positions open during our expansion

The agents who join now will have a seat at the table as this agency grows. Don't let that opportunity pass you by.

Requirements

• Active Property & Casualty license (or willingness to obtain prior to start)

• Life insurance license preferred (or willingness to obtain)

• 1+ year of sales experience strongly preferred (insurance, real estate, finance, or similar)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work in-office and in the field as needed

• Proficiency with basic CRM and agency management tools
