Position Purpose

Leads the strategic direction and long-term performance of PSIC's Physician and Dental professional liability programs. Responsible for establishing a clear path for profitable growth and retention by leveraging data, market insights, and cross-functional input. Provides leadership to ensure alignment across teams, sets priorities, and drives accountability for results across both lines of business.

Essential Functions

Leads the development, communication, and execution of strategy for the Physician and Dental programs by analyzing performance data, identifying opportunities and risks, and establishing a clear, actionable plan for growth and profitability. Prepares and delivers business reviews, presenting insights, trends, and recommendations with clarity and confidence to senior leadership, while ensuring alignment on direction and priorities across the organization.

Provides leadership and oversight of program staff, including the VP, Business Development and Dental Sales team, by setting expectations, managing performance, and ensuring consistent execution against defined priorities. Establishes accountability for results and fosters a culture of clarity, ownership, and disciplined execution across all functions supporting the programs.

Serves as the primary leader and advocate for the Physician and Dental programs in senior leadership settings, including Insurance Operations and business reviews. Develops and presents data-supported recommendations related to program strategy, staffing, technology, marketing initiatives, profitability, and growth opportunities. Partners with underwriting, actuarial, claims, marketing, service, finance, and business development leaders to evaluate alternatives, build alignment, and recommend a clear path forward for senior leadership consideration. Ensures approved initiatives are effectively communicated, coordinated, and executed across the organization.

Oversees Risk Management strategy and execution by ensuring programs, tools, and resources support loss prevention, improve profitability, and enhance customer value. Evaluates existing efforts and identifies opportunities to improve effectiveness and alignment with program objectives.

Evaluates market trends, competitive positioning, and product performance to recommend adjustments to underwriting, pricing, or product offerings that strengthen the organizationโ€™s position and support sustained growth.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience. Insurance designation is preferred (CIC, CPCU, RPLU, etc.)

Experience: 8-10 years of sales leadership or similar business development/management role. 5-7 years of professional liability insurance experience.

Skills: Requires the ability to acquire extensive knowledge of company products. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; excellent attention to detail, good problem solving skills; requires understanding of standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field. Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks of equal importance. This position requires the employee to obtain their Property and Casualty license within the first four months of employment.

Mental Demands

Must have the ability to focus on task for extended periods of time. Must be flexible and have the ability to work with, mentor and manage a variety of tasks and employees to meet company objectives. Must be able to interpret data, problem solve and have the ability to lead projects with little direction to meet company objectives. Must have the ability to plan, organize, be detail and deadline oriented when leading departments to achieve business plan goals.

Physical Demands

Continuous sitting for extended periods of time, some standing, walking, bending and reaching. Frequent use of fingers and hands to manipulate computer, telephone and other office equipment. Must be able to travel up to 20%.
