Job description

Job Description:

Our fast-paced, high-volume insurance defense law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant to support our attorneys and paralegals in handling a busy litigation caseload. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. Prior experience in insurance defense is helpful, but we are willing to train a motivated candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, proofread, and format correspondence, legal documents, and pleadings.
  • File legal documents electronically and in person with state and federal courts.
  • Maintain case files and organize both physical and electronic documents.
  • Schedule depositions, meetings, and court appearances.
  • Track deadlines and manage attorney calendars.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, and vendors.
  • Support billing processes and time entry as needed.
  • Assist with trial preparation and general administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Prior law firm experience preferred (1+ years in litigation support or administrative role).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience supporting attorneys in personal injury, workers' comp, or insurance defense.
  • E-filing experience with local, state, and federal courts.
  • Bilingual a plus.
