Job description

Attention ALL Cafeteria / Restaurant cooks - Tired of late evenings and weekends - Growing Kids Learning Center on State Road 23  seeks an individual to prepare breakfast, snacks, and lunches, and occasionally back-up teachers. If you are motivated to make a difference, enjoy working with children, are patient, creative, and have a sense of humor, then you are the perfect fit. Our staff members at Growing Kids Learning Centers are surrounded by a family culture and some great benefits!


Benefits: $500 sign-on bonus and a $2 per hour attendance bonus paid each pay period. We provide an amazing childcare discount for all our staff! The Center Cook supports learning, development, and health of young children. Their responsibilities include:


Responsibilities:

  • Food preparation: Preparing nutritious meals in bulk for breakfast, lunch, and snacks
  • Food safety: Following strict food safety regulations and sanitation guidelines
  • Kitchen maintenance: Keeping the kitchen clean and orderly by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out the trash
  • Food storage: Ensuring that all food and other items are stored properly
  • Ordering: Ordering food and supplies as needed

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment
  • Ensures the safety of the children entrusted in our care
  • Submit to a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB testing upon hire
  • Follow the state regulation nutritional requirements 
  • Participates in continued professional development for center workers
  • Budget, plan, and prepare weekly menus
  • Physical requirements: the ability to lift (45 lbs) and stand for prolonged periods

Schedule: 

  • Onsite - Monday to Friday - NO late evenings

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required) or currently enrolled in a school internship program.
