CURE Auto Insurance is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney to join our team. Youโ€™ll have an opportunity to work beside a first-rate team of subject matter experts in the field of law, insurance, and business operations.


Essential Job Functions

  • Handle PIP files from inception to conclusion, including pleadings, depositions, motion practice, negotiations, trial and appeal.

  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues to develop and implement effective litigation strategies

  • Manage discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses, taking and defending depositions, and analyzing medical records.

  • All candidates must possess excellent academic credentials, outstanding written and oral advocacy skills and strong software/technological skills including competency in Word, Outlook and Westlaw. Ideal candidates will be well organized, detail oriented and able to independently manage a caseload where work is time sensitive.

  • Directs support staff on clerical and administrative matters related to handling legal proceedings

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.


Experience/Qualifications

  • Must have a law degree from an A.B.A. accredited law school and excellent academic credentials

  • Must have an active law license to practice in Michigan and be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan

  • 2+ years of experience handling PIP litigation preferred. Additional handling of first and third party claims for auto carriers is a plus.

  • Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law commensurate with level of experience

  • Experience presenting and cross-examining lay and expert witnesses

  • Experience working in a paperless electronic environment

  • Strong automation/technological skills for lawsuit handling and courtroom presentation

  • Preferred qualification is the handling of PIP defense matters

Physical Actions/Environment: Required job duties consist of prompt and regular attendance, ability to frequently move about the office to coordinate work with others; standing, sitting and typing for extended periods; and lifting and/or carrying up to 5 lbs. Ability to read, understand, process and evaluate large amounts of technical information and make related, informed decisions.


Starting Salary: $100,000 - $160,000


Schedule: We offer flexible work hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with options like 8โ€“4, 8:30โ€“4:30, or 9โ€“5. We do our best to support individual preferences, though schedules may be adjusted as needed to ensure strong coverage and teamwork.

We also offer a hybrid schedule: team members work onsite four days a week and can work remotely one day a week.
