About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Benefits, the Benefits Administrator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs for multiple client accounts. This position works closely with the Director of Benefits, clients, employees, insurance carriers, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely benefits administration.

The role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and able to independently handle routine benefits administration while escalating complex matters to the Director of Benefits as appropriate.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Benefits Administrator, you will:

  • Administer employee benefit eligibility, enrollments, qualifying life events, changes, and terminations for multiple client accounts.
  • Support new client benefit implementations and onboarding under the direction of the Director of Benefits.
  • Support benefit plan setup and ongoing maintenance within payroll and benefits administration platforms, including plan configurations, rates, eligibility rules, employer contributions, deductions, and benefit elections.
  • Respond to client and employee benefit inquiries via phone and email, providing knowledgeable and professional support and escalating complex issues when appropriate.
  • Audit benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers to resolve claims-related issues and routine enrollment, eligibility, or coverage discrepancies.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving carrier enrollment/feed discrepancies.
  • Assist with annual Open Enrollment planning, employee communications, and enrollment meetings.
  • Support benefit renewals, including plan and rate updates and validation of employee elections and deductions.
  • Reconcile carrier invoices and assist with benefits billing processes.
  • Support COBRA administration and ACA eligibility tracking, reporting, and data accuracy.
  • Coordinate closely with the Payroll team to ensure benefit elections, deductions, employer contributions, effective dates, and employee changes are accurately reflected in payroll.
  • Collaborate with HR and Client Success teams to ensure seamless client service.
  • Maintain recurring benefits administration schedules and follow up on outstanding items with clients, employees, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned to support business needs.
What You Bring to the Team

We are seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional with the following qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in employee benefits administration.
  • Experience administering group health, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefit plans preferred.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits regulations, including COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, and ERISA, preferred.
  • Experience working within a PEO environment highly preferred; experience in HR outsourcing, insurance brokerage, or benefits administration environments also considered.
  • Experience working with payroll, HRIS, and/or benefits administration platforms preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required to support a diverse client base.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $55,000–$65,000 DOE
