Job description

  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Research and resolve reconciling items
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
  • Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and properly documented
  • Analyze accounts receivable balances and aging trends
  • Investigate unapplied cash, aged balances, and customer account discrepancies
  • Partner with business stakeholders to resolve complex receivable-related matters
  • Monitor and support cash application and reconciliation activities
  • Support accounting for premiums, commissions, ceded activity, and other insurance-related transactions
  • Assist with operational accounting activities related to programs, settlements, and other complex transactions
  • Prepare audit-ready schedules and supporting documentation
  • Respond to internal and external audit requests
  • Assist with SOX, control, and compliance-related activities
  • Maintain documentation supporting key accounting processes and controls
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce manual effort
  • Assist in developing standardized procedures and documentation
  • Participate in system implementations, process enhancements, and special projects
  • Leverage Excel and reporting tools to automate recurring tasks and analyses
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Billing, Claims, and other functional teams

Requirements
  • 3+ years accounting experience
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in finance or accounting required
  • Experience in operational accounting close work
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
  • Good working knowledge of US GAAP accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables
  • Working knowledge of General Ledger Systems such as Workday preferred but not required
  • Insurance experience is a plus
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
