Job description

Summary Description:
The Category Insights Manager is an integral part of the Brand team serving as a leader for insights and shopper behaviors for the O'Keeffe's brand for each respective retailer within the channel. They will be responsible for analyzing market data, shopper behavior, and competitive landscape to generate actionable insights that inform category management strategies, including product assortment, promotion, and distribution, ultimately supporting sales driving initiatives within a specific product category by collaborating with cross-functional teams across sales, brand, and SS&P.
This position will work in support of SS&P and Sales in delivering brand objectives and works across multifunctional support team to effectively deliver customer needs.

Duties:
  • Full analysis and insights of sales fundamentals to gain share profitably
  • Collect and analyze syndicated data (Nielsen, Luminate), retailer data, and internal sales data to identify trends, patterns, and key performance indicators
  • Develop custom reports and dashboards to visualize insights and communicate key findings to stakeholders
  • Analyze and define the growth levers relevant to customer with specific focus on the category, selling through category insights
  • Liaison between SS&P and Brand and Sales team focused on specific customer in field and supporting the Sales for category sell in stories
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop category strategies aligned with overall business objectives
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Consumer Insights & retailer teams to provide cohesive data attribution for the business and wholistic sell-in stories
  • Track category performance against key metrics (sales, share) and identify areas for improvement
  • Effectively communicate category insights and recommendations to stakeholders across different departments including sales, brand, and SS&P
  • Develops business opportunities and strategies to grow brand within category
  • Category expert for the Brand and competitive products at a specific customer
  • Serves as a key resource for presentations for both internal and external customers.
  • Other duties assigned by management.
  • Periodic travel might be required.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Demonstrated proficiency creating inferences/actionable insights from syndicated data and/or customer insights (Nielsen and Luminate/Scintilla experience strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in retail analytics
  • Forefront thinking
  • Strong analytic skill set with the ability to provide actionable recommendations based on critical metrics
  • Experience presenting to & selling with retail customers
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Should be goal oriented, confident, outgoing, with a desire to succeed.
  • Business analytic platform experience (Power BI or other relevant software)
  • Experience in enterprise data stewardship
  • Experienced user of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
