What is an inside account manager?

An Inside Account Manager is a sales professional who manages client accounts from within the office rather than meeting clients face-to-face. They are responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customers, identifying their needs, and offering solutions or products that fit those needs. Inside Account Managers often use phone calls, emails, and virtual meetings to communicate with clients, handle inquiries, and close sales. Their goal is to increase customer satisfaction and drive revenue growth for their company.

How does an inside account manager typically collaborate with outside sales teams to achieve sales targets?

Inside Account Managers often work closely with outside sales representatives to coordinate strategies and ensure a seamless customer experience. While inside managers handle remote communications, follow-ups, and account maintenance, they regularly share insights and leads with their field counterparts. This collaboration helps align goals, prevents overlaps, and maximizes opportunities for upselling or cross-selling. Effective teamwork and regular communication between the two roles are key to meeting shared revenue goals and building strong client relationships.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an inside account manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Inside Account Manager, you need strong sales acumen, relationship management skills, and a background in business or a related field. Proficiency with CRM systems like Salesforce, sales enablement tools, and sometimes industry-specific certifications are commonly required. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills help build client trust and manage multiple accounts efficiently. These abilities are crucial for driving revenue growth, maintaining client satisfaction, and achieving sales targets in a competitive environment.

Job description

* This is a Monday - Friday, in-office position in Fort Lauderdale, FL

At Xendoo, Inc., we believe small business owners deserve the same financial clarity and expertise that big corporations take for granted. Since 2016, we've been on a mission to fuel the ambitions of entrepreneurs across the country — handling the bookkeeping, accounting, financial reporting, and taxes that keep businesses moving, so owners can focus on what they do best. As a VC-backed, tech-forward company, we've built proprietary technology that sits at the core of everything we do, and as a preferred partner of QuickBooks Online and Xero, our clients benefit from seamlessly integrated, best-in-class tools. With our recent acquisition of an AI platform purpose-built for CPAs, we're not just keeping pace with the future of accounting — we're leading it.
We serve the builders: franchise owners, ecommerce founders, tradespeople, medical practices, tech startups, and hospitality operators. And we don't just manage their numbers — we help them understand them, giving owners the knowledge they need to make their next big move.
Our team runs on five values that aren't just words on a wall: Care Deeply, Be Curious, Think Critically, Own It, and Be Relentless. They shape every decision we make and every relationship we build.  The goal? To champion the success of 50,000 small business owners by 2030. We're growing fast, and we're just getting started.

About the Role
We're looking for a highly motivated sales professional who thrives in a consultative, relationship-driven sales environment. You're comfortable speaking with business owners, understand the importance of trust when selling financial services, and enjoy helping entrepreneurs solve meaningful operational challenges.
You likely have 2-5 years of experience in B2B sales, have consistently exceeded quota, and know how to create pipeline through both outbound prospecting and inbound conversion. You know your numbers and understand what you need to accomplish on a day to day basis to get there. You're self-directed, organized, and excited to help build a high-performing sales organization.
Key Responsibilities

Own the full sales cycle
  • Prospect and build your own pipeline through outbound prospecting, referrals, partnerships, inbound inquiries, and networking.
  • Conduct discovery calls with small business owners, founders, and operational leaders to understand their bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and tax needs.
  • Deliver consultative product demonstrations and position Xendoo's accounting services as a strategic solution for growing businesses.
  • Manage active opportunities through discovery, demo walkthrough, proposal delivery, and initial onboarding handoff.
  • Close new customers while identifying opportunities to expand relationships through additional services such as tax planning, payroll, catch-up bookkeeping, and CFO advisory.
Become a trusted advisor to growing businesses
  • Develop expertise in Xendoo's bookkeeping, accounting, tax, payroll, and financial reporting solutions.
  • Understand the operational and financial challenges facing businesses across key industries including: eCommerce, Technology, Professional Services, Hospitality, Trades & Retail
  • Consult with business owners on improving financial visibility, maintaining tax compliance, streamlining back-office operations, and supporting business growth.
  • Build trusted relationships with founders, CEOs, presidents, owners, and operations leaders while understanding each business's unique goals and challenges.
Drive customer success from day one
  • Partner closely with onboarding, bookkeeping, tax, and customer success teams to ensure a seamless transition from signed agreement to implementation.
  • Set clear expectations throughout the buying process and help customers understand onboarding timelines, deliverables, and ongoing support.
  • Maintain consistent communication with prospects during the sales process and proactively remove obstacles to closing.

Help shape the sales organization

  • Share customer feedback, competitive insights, and market trends to improve messaging and positioning.
  • Identify common objections and collaborate with marketing and product teams to refine sales enablement materials.
  • Contribute to developing repeatable sales processes, playbooks, and best practices as the organization continues to grow.

You're a STRONG fit if...

  • You're proactive about generating pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, and referrals rather than relying solely on inbound leads.
  • You've sold SaaS, fintech, financial services, payroll, HR technology, banking, payments, or other business solutions to small and medium-sized businesses.
  • You're comfortable managing consultative sales cycles involving multiple conversations with business owners and executive decision-makers.
  • You have strong discovery skills and enjoy understanding a customer's business before recommending a solution.
  • You communicate clearly through email, phone, video meetings, and LinkedIn.
  • You're disciplined about pipeline management and maintain accurate records in HubSpot, using it to effectively manage opportunities, forecast revenue, and track sales activity.
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced office setting, where learning and sales processes continue to evolve.
If you're the kind of person who reads a job post and already has three ideas — we want to hear from you.

Here at Xendoo, we enjoy a Monday through Friday workweek (even during tax season) so you can enjoy a healthy work/life balance.  Additionally we offer;

  • Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance
  • Generous PTO and Paid Holidays
  • 401(k) with employer matching
  • Casual dress code- jeans and t-shirts
  • Complimentary lunch for the team every Friday
  • Free Gym on location
  • Fun and collaborative environment

Our location is friendly to the tri-county area close to I-95.

Come join Team Xendoo!  We are excited to meet you!
