OverviewThe Infrastructure Engineer on the Mission Control team plays a critical role in building, operating, and evolving the cloud infrastructure that supports reliable, secure, and scalable product delivery. This role is responsible for turning platform needs, application requirements, and operational constraints into well-automated infrastructure and developer workflows.Â
Working across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and production operations, this individual partners closely with Engineering, Product, Security, Data, and domain Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure teams can ship quickly without compromising reliability, security, or compliance.Â
This role contributes to the development and evolution of core systems, spanning cloud environments, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerized workloads, observability, secrets management, networking, data infrastructure, and deployment automation within a regulated, high-stakes environment. Success requires strong systems thinking, pragmatic engineering judgment, and a bias toward automation and repeatability.Â
The Infrastructure Engineer is expected to operate in an AI-native engineering environment, using modern coding agents, automation tools, and rapid prototyping workflows to improve delivery speed and infrastructure quality. In parallel, this individual will help create the foundation for AI-enabled product capabilities by ensuring the underlying systems are dependable, observable, secure, and easy for engineers to use.Â
This is a fully remote position that offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $240,000 USD, plus an annual bonus. You'll also receive our excellent benefits package, which includes medical coverage starting on day one and a company-matched 401(k). Compensation may vary based on experience, location, and other job-related factors.
ResponsibilitiesCloud Infrastructure & Platform EngineeringÂ
- Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure across major platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure with a focus on reliability, scalability, security, and cost disciplineÂ
- Create reusable infrastructure patterns that help product teams provision, deploy, and operate services consistentlyÂ
- Own infrastructure changes from design and implementation through production rollout, monitoring, and iterationÂ
Infrastructure as Code & AutomationÂ
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, Bicep, CloudFormation, or similar frameworksÂ
- Automate repeatable operational workflows, environment provisioning, configuration management, and deployment tasksÂ
- Improve infrastructure quality through clear modules, versioning, documentation, testing, and review practicesÂ
DevOps & Developer ExperienceÂ
- Partner with Engineering teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, release workflows, build systems, and deployment safetyÂ
- Reduce friction for developers by building self-service tools, templates, runbooks, and paved-path workflowsÂ
- Balance speed and control so teams can move quickly while maintaining strong production and change-management practicesÂ
Reliability, Observability & Production OperationsÂ
- Operate production systems confidently, including deployments, incident response, troubleshooting, and post-incident follow-upÂ
- Implement and improve observability across logs, metrics, traces, alerts, dashboards, and service health indicatorsÂ
- Contribute to architecture and operational decisions that improve uptime, performance, resilience, and maintainabilityÂ
- Identify and address reliability risks before they become customer-impacting issuesÂ
Security, Compliance & Cost DisciplineÂ
- Implement secure infrastructure patterns, access controls, secrets management, and least-privilege practicesÂ
- Support compliance-aware engineering practices appropriate for a regulated fintech environmentÂ
- Monitor infrastructure utilization and cost, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency without reducing reliabilityÂ
Culture & CraftÂ
- Contribute to a culture of ownership, curiosity, pragmatism, and engineering excellenceÂ
- Raise the bar through thoughtful automation, clear abstractions, strong documentation, and sound operational judgmentÂ
Qualifications- 3-5+ years of experience building, operating, and improving production infrastructure or DevOps platformsÂ
- Strong experience with one or more major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including compute, networking, storage, IAM, and managed servicesÂ
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform or a comparable framework, and a strong understanding of reusable infrastructure modulesÂ
- Experience with CI/CD systems, deployment automation, release workflows, and modern DevOps practicesÂ
- Comfort working with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or similar platformsÂ
- Ability to write scripts or production-quality automation in Python, Go, Rust, Bash, TypeScript, or a similar languageÂ
- Experience operating production systems with observability tools, alerting, incident response, runbooks, and post-incident improvement practicesÂ
- Working knowledge of cloud security fundamentals, including IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, encryption, and secure configuration practicesÂ
- Comfort working with data-heavy, integration-heavy, and operationally critical systems in productionÂ
- Good judgment in ambiguous environments where the path is not fully defined and the team needs to go from zero to oneÂ
- Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical teammatesÂ
Preferred ExperienceÂ
- Experience building infrastructure, internal platforms, or developer tools for fast-moving product engineering teamsÂ
- Experience in fintech, mortgage, lending, payments, insurance, or other regulated domainsÂ
- Experience supporting AI and data infrastructure, including secure access to model platforms, data pipelines, vector databases, or GPU-enabled workloadsÂ
- Experience improving developer velocity, cloud cost efficiency, production reliability, or deployment safety as systems growÂ
A note to candidatesÂ
You do not need prior fintech or finance experience to succeed in this role. If you are a strong infrastructure-minded engineer with sound judgment, a security and reliability mindset, and excitement for learning a complex domain, we would love to hear from you.  If your background does not line up perfectly with every bullet, but this role feels like the kind of work you want to do, please apply.Â
