Who we are looking for: We are looking for positive, professionals who are honest, detail oriented, organized, and who take initiative and pride in their position with the company. Ideal candidates will possess successful leadership experience in food production, manufacturing operations, material handling, or warehouse logistics. The ability to communicate in Spanish will be a huge plus for the person in this role.
What you would be doing: Primarily responsible to support the Plant Directors with operations to manufacture products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. Reviews the production schedule and resources available and directs and supervises the daily activities of staff in the designated department, delegating responsibilities as necessary, to attain goals and objectives in each area. Administrative tasks may include, interviewing, training, time keeping, attendance records, addressing complaints and conflict resolution. Conveys and enforces company policies to employees and enforces safety and GMP regulations (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities to ensure the quality and safety of the product will include, but not be limited to:
  • Plan, develop, implement, or enforce manufacturing and equipment safety and security programs and activities.
  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of mechanics, contractors, vendors, installers, and repairers to meet production goals and equipment maintenance.
  • Examine systems, facilities, tools, equipment, working conditions and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, repairs, to correct unsafe conditions or less than optimal performance.
  • Locate, select, and procure tools, equipment, replacement parts, and supplies to maximize return on investments and to meet production/sanitation goals and personnel needs.
  • Perform skilled repair or maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand or power tools, hydraulic presses or shears, or welding equipment.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, or job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for workers.
  • Track and coordinate machinery maintenance to maximize equipment runtime using a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, or outside contractors to perform duties within budget.
  • Develop or implement equipment tracking systems to analyze equipment downtime and expenditures to detect production problems and increase performance.
  • Compile operational or personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics, or test results.
  • Interview, select, hire, train, motivate, evaluate, resolve personnel grievances, or recommend transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures.
  • Clean and sterilize the equipment, tools, and work areas as specified.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial maintenance/engineering roles.
  • Mathematical Skills - Accuracy with arithmetic, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, percentages, fractions, and basic algebra.
  • Language Skills - Must be able to read and comprehend detailed instructions and effectively communicate highly technical concepts in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Computer Skills - Must be able to use Microsoft Office, time keeping or other business related software.
