Job description

Job Title: Industrial Engineering TechnicianJob Description

The Industrial Engineering Technician supports manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced production environment. In this role, you work closely with engineering, production, quality, and operations teams to analyze processes, improve efficiency, reduce waste, and contribute to manufacturing excellence. You apply Lean Manufacturing principles, conduct process analysis, and drive operational improvements that directly influence production performance.

Responsibilities
  • Support industrial and manufacturing engineers in analyzing production processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing and operational data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct time studies, work measurements, and detailed process observations to uncover improvement opportunities in labor utilization and workflow.
  • Develop, maintain, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation to ensure consistency and clarity.
  • Assist with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives across the production floor.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend solutions to improve safety, product quality, delivery performance, and cost effectiveness.
  • Create process flow maps, workstation layouts, visual work instructions, and production documentation to support optimized manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor production performance and prepare reports related to key performance indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Support the implementation of new equipment, tooling, manufacturing methods, and workflow improvements, ensuring smooth integration into existing processes.
  • Partner with production, maintenance, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to resolve operational issues and remove barriers to performance.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records and technical documentation to support traceability and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in all assigned activities.
  • Create and refine manufacturing documentation and work instructions that are clear, practical, and aligned with engineering specifications.
Essential Skills
  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Industrial Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data analysis, documentation, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing data analysis and reporting techniques.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities for evaluating processes and proposing improvements.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills for coordinating activities and presenting findings.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a production environment and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Work Environment

This role supports both manufacturing operations and engineering-driven process improvement initiatives. Approximately 60–80% of your time is spent in a production environment working directly with manufacturing personnel, equipment, and workflows, observing processes on the floor and implementing improvements. The remaining time is dedicated to data analysis, documentation, reporting, and project work in an office setting. You collaborate closely with experienced engineers, production leaders, quality professionals, and manufacturing teams in a highly collaborative environment that values continuous improvement, innovation, and measurable impact on production performance.

This is a Contract position based out of Centennial, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
