About the role

We are looking for a Craft Electrician to support the safe and reliable operation of electrical equipment and infrastructure across the Kennecott Copper operation.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled and safetyconscious electrician to apply their expertise in a complex industrial environment, working a 4 on / 4 off continuous roster.

Reporting to the Supervisor - Electrical Maintenance and working in a collaborative and safetyfocused environment within Electrical Maintenance, you will be:

  • Troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems from 12V DC to 13.8kV AC, including switchgear, transformers, and distribution panels

  • Diagnosing and repairing AC and DC motors, including motor control circuits and starters

  • Maintaining and troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFDs) and soft starters

  • Installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting instrumentation such as proximity sensors, level sensors, RTDs, and pressure sensors

  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals

  • Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and sitespecific policies

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and instrumentation across low and medium voltage applications

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation

  • Willingness and ability to work a 4 on / 4 off continuous roster

  • A collaborative mindset with respect for others in a diverse and inclusive team environment

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum, tellurium, and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
