Commercial Insurance Account Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking insurance professionals with 2 to 5 years of commercial insurance experience and an active P&C license, for current opportunities within our Account Management career path based on experience and licensing. Multiple experience levels considered, including Account Associate, Senior Account Associate and Account Manager Associate opportunities.

Provide administrative, technical, and customer service support to the account team and assigned clients. This role ensures accurate policy processing, supports new and renewal business, and maintains high service standards while minimizing risk exposure.

The scope, autonomy, and complexity of responsibilities increase by level, ranging from task execution (Account Associate) to independent account management and technical advisory (Account Manager Associate).

Core Responsibilities (All Levels)

Client Service & Support

  • Deliver proactive, responsive service to clients and internal teams
  • Communicate workload status and resolve service requests efficiently
  • Support strong client and team relationships

Policy Administration

  • Process endorsements, audits, cancellations, reinstatements
  • Manage certificates, ID cards, binders, invoices, and related documents
  • Support policy issuance and documentation accuracy

Business & Renewal Support

  • Assist or lead new and renewal business processes
  • Prepare submissions and proposals
  • Gather underwriting information and documentation

Systems & Workflow Management

  • Maintain accurate client and policy data in systems
  • Monitor activities and ensure timely task completion

Billing & Compliance

  • Resolve billing discrepancies and support collections
  • Ensure adherence to policies and minimize errors & omissions exposure

Level Differentiation

Account Associate (AA) (Non-Exempt)- Foundational

  • Executes transactional and administrative tasks
  • Supports workflows under close supervision
  • Assists with submissions and policy processing
  • Focused on accuracy, timeliness, and task completion

Senior Account Associate (SAA) (Non-Exempt)- Intermediate

  • Independently manage small or low-complexity accounts
  • Tracks renewals and ensures timely processing
  • Performs underwriting preparation and loss run analysis
  • Evaluates and negotiates coverage/pricing
  • Prepares proposals and binds coverage
  • Provides guidance to junior staff

Account Manager Associate (AMA) (Exempt) - Advanced

  • Operates with minimal supervision and increased autonomy
  • Manages full customer service lifecycle (billing, claims, coverage)
  • Leads renewal strategy, negotiation, and execution
  • Performs in-depth coverage analysis and advisory support
  • Handles more complex accounts and escalations
  • Demonstrates advanced technical expertise and leadership
