Job Description Summary:
As the Warehouse Inbound Assistant Manager at our wholesale tire distribution center, you will play a vital role in overseeing the inbound operations of our facility. Working closely with the Warehouse Inbound Manager, you will ensure the smooth and efficient receipt, storage, and processing of tires as they arrive at our warehouse.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the competencies and or ability required. Essential Tasks and Responsibilities; include, but not limited to:
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of warehouse associates to achieve daily inbound targets and objectives.
  • Receiving Operations: Oversee the receiving process for incoming tire shipments, ensuring accuracy in product counts, quality inspections, and documentation.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with the Inventory Control team to maintain accurate inventory records, conduct cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all received tires meet company standards for safety, condition, and labeling.
  • Safety Compliance: Promote a culture of safety within the warehouse by enforcing OSHA regulations, conducting regular safety inspections, and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within the inbound operations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
  • Vendor Relations: Maintain positive relationships with tire suppliers and carriers, addressing any issues or concerns related to inbound shipments promptly and professionally.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for warehouse associates to enhance their skills and knowledge of inbound operations procedures.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inbound operations, analyze trends, and develop action plans to address areas for improvement.
  • Assists with Hiring, Coaching, Counseling, and Termination: Participate in the recruitment process by assisting with interviews and providing input on candidate selection. Provide coaching and counseling to warehouse associates as needed to support their professional growth and address performance issues. Professionally terminate employees when necessary, following company policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of inbound logistics processes, including receiving, inventory management, and quality control.
  • Familiarity with tire handling and storage best practices is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Commitment to safety, with knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including nights and weekends.

Work Restrictions and Limitations:
  • This role requires lifting and moving heavy objects, up to 75 pounds, on a regular basis.
  • The Warehouse Inbound Assistant Manager must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Flexibility in working hours is essential, as this position may require occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday shifts to meet operational needs.
  • Due to the nature of the role, the Warehouse Inbound Assistant Manager must adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following proper lifting techniques.
  • This position may involve prolonged periods of standing, walking, and repetitive tasks.
