Job description

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Trauma Registrar.
The incumbent assumes primary responsibility for accurate and concurrent data abstraction, evaluation, injury coding and analysis of trauma medical records into the Trauma Registry and Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) database. Demonstrates competency to independently perform tasks, to generate reports from the Trauma Registry for injury research, epidemiology, peer review and performance improvement activities within the Cabell Huntington Hospital Trauma Center. Provides assistance to the Director of Trauma Services and the Trauma Medical Director.
  • Junior College/Technical School (or 5 years' experience in Trauma Registrar) required.
  • ATS or WV State Trauma Registrar Course (within one year in position) required.
  • AAAM AIS Coding Course (within one year of position) required.
  • Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries (CSRT) (within 2 years of position) required.
  • 5+ Years of Position-Related Experience in Trauma Registrar (in lieu of Associate's Degree in coding/medical/healthcare field) required.
