Job description

Thompson Houston is now recruiting for In-Room Dining Server. Join our hotel team as we launch a new destination restaurant concept within Thompson Houston Hotel. This position is available to start immediately and will be a part of a new restaurant relaunch this summer. The 3-meal dining venue includes an expanded 1-acre pool deck serving hotel guests and residents, luxury cabanas, private event spaces, indoor-outdoor dining areas and the best views of downtown. This restaurant is managed by Thompson Houston Hotel and Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
In-Room Dining colleagues are responsible for recording guest food and/or beverage orders, offering menu suggestions, processing forms of payment for goods and services to include room charges and credit card. Our In Room Dining Attendants are a vital point of contact for the guest dining experience and have the ability to ensure satisfaction. Other duties include general in room dining preparation, removal of serving trays from guestroom floors and maintaining a sanitary environment.
Responsibilities/Duties
  • Receives and inputs guest orders.
  • Ensure receipt of orders by kitchen are correct.
  • Delivers food and beverage orders and collects payments.
  • Settles checks in the P.O.S. system according to Hotel specifications.
  • Assists in the maintenance of the Room Service area and equipment, including retrieval of all equipment throughout the hotel.
  • Handles complaints or challenges with a positive attitude
