Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Licensing Lead is a critical leadership role responsible for the end-to-end integrity of the agency's licensing and contracting lifecycle. This position oversees the Licensing Department to ensure all General Agency and Direct agents remain in full regulatory compliance with state and carrier requirements. Beyond daily supervision, the Lead serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) who optimizes onboarding workflows, manages complex carrier relationships, and leverages data reporting in our CRM to maintain a seamless, high-growth environment for our partners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
  • Assist licensing team with escalated contract issues.
  • Serve as liaison between carrier representatives and licensing department for all contracting purposes.
  • Oversee the onboarding of General Agency Agents, General Agency Principal Agents and Direct Agents
  • Provide necessary General Agency administrative training contracting processes.
  • Research and adds nonresident states to active contracts with the carriers.
  • Complete all Carrier Contracting Packages for the Agency and all agency level contracts.
  • Create and update all agent onboarding materials and processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external agents and key carrier representatives.
  • Research new or unusual topics or situations that may arise.
  • Collaborate across all departments and functional levels of the organization and adapt to the needs of the organization.
  • Revise and create systems for a seamless agent onboarding flow.
  • Perform managerial duties for licensing team such as updating task tracker and timecard approvals.

EDUCATION:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE:
The position requires at least 3-5 years of experience in Health Insurance Industry. At least 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity
MEN. & PHYS. QUALS:
Must be sufficiently ambulatory to move from place to place, be able to focus on detail for extended periods of time, be able to stand in front of others for long periods of time.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Specific leadership skills to transmit to external and internal agents. Must possess Health Producer or Life and Health Produce License Familiarity with MS Office software. Good writing and communication skills.
EXEMPT CLASSIFICATION:
This position is non-exempt under the Administrative Exemption.
