Job description

Collectors is the leading creator of innovative technology that provides value-added services for collectors worldwide. We grade, authenticate, vault, and sell millions of record-setting collectibles, all while modernizing and digitalizing the process to further our mission of helping collectors pursue their passions. We’re always on the lookout for talented people to join our growing team. Our services span collectible trading cards, autographs, comic books, coins, video games, event tickets, and memorabilia. Our subsidiaries include PSA, PCGS, Beckett, SGC, and Card Ladder. Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated millions of items. We employ more than 3000 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana, California and offices in New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Japan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico, Germany, the UK, and France.

As part of our interview process, we request that candidates have their cameras on during video interviews. This helps foster meaningful conversation and allows us to create an experience that closely resembles our standard working environment. Certain interview steps may take place by phone. For remote roles, and at our discretion, candidates may be asked to participate in an on-site interview as part of the final stages of the process. We understand there may be occasional circumstances requiring accommodation and are happy to discuss them as needed. Your recruiter will be able to clarify expectations and answer any questions you have. We are seeking a Director of Events & Experiential Marketing to spearhead our events and efforts in bringing our brand, benefits, products and experiences directly in-person with prospects and customers. This role will lead our event planning and execution efforts, with a primary focus on promoting and enhancing the PSA brand presence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in event management, exceptional organizational skills, a passion for collectibles and the hobby, and experience in managing large flagship events along with a diverse portfolio of smaller events at scale. Building a robust international events and experiential roadmap is also a key component of this role. This role owns our events strategy as an organization inclusive of our event objectives, operations, production, activations, and experiential marketing. The Director serves as the central connector across Product, Operations, Customer Experience, Growth, and Brand to ensure clarity of strategy and disciplined execution. This leader brings deep, first‑hand credibility in events (trade events preferred) and plays a critical role in strengthening PSA's position at the center of the collector ecosystem. You’ll report to the Sr. Director, Marketing Operations and Planning and work from our Santa Ana, CA or Jersey City, NJ office. Remote or hybrid candidates will also be considered. We believe that there is significant value in in-person collaboration. If you live within a 1 hour commuting distance to one of our offices, you will be required to be onsite most of the time. This will be discussed further as part of the recruiting process.

What You’ll Do:
  • Event Strategy & Vision: Own and evolve Collectors' and PSA's overarching events strategy, setting the multi-year vision for how in-person experiences build brand equity and drive commercial outcomes. Architect a portfolio spanning marquee flagship events, a scaled long tail of regional and local activations, and drop-off events — ensuring each tier reinforces PSA's position at the center of the collector ecosystem.
  • Cultural Relevance & Experiential Activations: Identify and capitalize on key cultural moments — major sports and pop culture milestones, entertainment releases, industry conventions, and collector community moments — to position PSA at the forefront of culture. Design bold, memorable experiential activations that translate brand strategy into physical, shareable experiences, elevating PSA's presence beyond traditional trade events and into the broader cultural conversation.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Partnership: Serve as the central connector across Product, Operations, Customer Experience, Growth, and Brand, ensuring strategic alignment and disciplined execution. Cultivate high-value partnerships with strategic partners, industry organizations, and co-branded event opportunities that maximize exposure and deepen industry relationships worldwide.
  • Stakeholder & Executive Engagement: Act as the primary voice for events strategy with senior leadership, external partners, vendors, and collector communities, translating event performance into business impact for executive stakeholders. Must have experience and strength with internal stakeholder management.
  • End-to-End Event Operations: Direct end-to-end planning and execution across the full event portfolio — budgeting, logistics, venue strategy, vendor management, activation execution, and timeline governance — with accountability for operational excellence at scale.
  • Marketing Integration: Partner with Marketing leadership to ensure event strategy is fully integrated into broader marketing plans, orchestrating pre-event, on-site, and post-event efforts that amplify reach across international markets and channels.
  • Team Building & Development: Build, lead, and develop a high-performing events organization — hiring, mentoring, and scaling the team’s capabilities to match the growing ambition of the events roadmap. Foster a culture of creativity, ownership, and operational rigor.
  • Revenue & Sponsorship Strategy: Develop and lead a sponsorship strategy that identifies, secures, and grows sponsorships, partnerships, and exhibitor relationships — treating events as a revenue-generating channel, not just a brand cost center.
  • International Expansion & Global Roadmap: Build and own a robust international events and experiential roadmap, expanding the Collectors and PSA brand footprint across global markets. Adapt strategy to regional nuances while maintaining a cohesive global brand experience.
  • Metrics, Reporting & ROI: Define and own KPIs across the event portfolio, delivering executive-level reporting on ROI, brand impact, and attendee sentiment to inform ongoing investment decisions.
  • Innovation & Industry Foresight: Champion emerging event technologies and experiential trends, ensuring Collectors and PSA remain innovators — not followers — in how the hobby experiences live brand moments.
Who You Are:
  • 7+ years in event management, including significant exposure to trade shows, conventions, experiential activations, and large-scale events.
  • Experience with multi-format events and end-to-end ownership.
  • Strong leadership, team management and internal stakeholder alignment skills.
  • Ability to manage and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to use data to inform investment and strategy.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • A passion for collectibles and an understanding of the PSA and PCGS authentication and grading process is a plus.
Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $163,308 – $267,038. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, experience, and skill set.

Reasons To Join Us:
  • Health Insurance: All full-time employees are eligible to enroll in Medical, Dental, and Vision
