Job Title: Junior Recruiter

Pay: $28-$30 per hour

Location: Tustin, CA

Position Purpose: Under the direction of the HR Manager, the Junior Recruiter will be responsible for the successful recruitment of all positions at Families Together of Orange County. The responsibilities include advertising job openings online across various platforms. Communicating with hiring managers as needed, screen candidates, and coordinating interviews with qualified candidates. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate has experience in sourcing, interviewing, and evaluating qualified candidates, given the hiring managers' requirements. The Junior Recruiter plays a key role in ensuring the organization hires top-tier talent and ensures we provide a positive candidate experience.


Core Duties and responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  1. Partner with hiring managers to draft, update, and optimize job descriptions for open positions, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and role expectations.
  2. Post and promote job openings on the company's careers page, relevant job boards, professional networks (e.g., LinkedIn), and social media platforms to attract qualified candidates.
  3. Actively source and engage candidates through online channels, including job boards, professional networks, college career platforms, portfolio sites, and employee referrals.
  4. Identify new and creative sourcing strategies to expand candidate pipelines and reach underrepresented talent pools.
  5. Screen resumes and applications to assess qualifications and shortlist candidates for interviews, while ensuring timely and professional candidate communication.
  6. Conduct initial candidate screening (phone, video, or in-person) and assist in coordinating subsequent interview rounds with hiring teams.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the position control system, ensuring compliance with internal and external documentation requirements.
  8. Evaluate candidates' qualifications and cultural fit based on the organization's values and mission statement.
  9. Communicate clearly and promptly with candidates throughout the hiring process, providing timely updates, answering questions, and setting expectations.
  10. Provide structured feedback to candidates, when appropriate, in coordination with hiring managers.
  11. Support onboarding coordination via a proper notification process.
  12. Represent the company at job fairs, networking events, and university career events to promote the employer brand and build talent pipelines.
  13. Collaborate with the HR leadership to monitor recruitment metrics, track open requisitions, and prepare status updates and reports assigned.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all candidate interactions and data handling.
  15. Continuously develop knowledge of current hiring trends, labor markets, and best practices in talent acquisition.
  16. Perform additional recruitment-related tasks and projects as assigned by the HR leadership

Education, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or HR certificate preferred, preferably in a related field.
  • 1-2 years of human resources experience as a Talent Coordinator, Junior Recruiter, HR assistant, HR Coordinator, or similar role with exposure to the recruiting process.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Outlook.
  • Experience with the ATS system Paylocity preferred. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (strongly preferred)

Work Schedule:

  • FTOC is an in-person organization first and foremost. Employees are expected to be on-site for their scheduled shifts.
  • Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Holidays and weekends may be required depending on an employee's department due to organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs, as FTOC continues to grow and expand work days and hours.
  • Overtime may also occur due to organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs.
