Summary

The Specialist, Aircrafts Continued Airworthiness & Engineering is responsible for supporting the continued airworthiness, technical compliance, engineering coordination, and operational suitability of the aircraft fleet. The role ensures aircraft conformity to approved type design, regulatory requirements, approved technical data, and operational standards.

Responsibilities

Aircraft Onboarding & Acceptance

  • Perform technical record review audits and acceptance evaluation of onboarding aircraft.
  • Support aircraft acquisition, induction, and transition activities. 
  • Review aircraft technical status, records, modifications, and configuration during onboarding. 
  • Coordinate technical acceptance activities with internal departments and external stakeholders.

Imported Aircraft & Regulatory Coordination 

  • Prepare imported aircraft technical packages and coordinate with Ministerial Delegates - Maintenance (MDM). 
  • Support aircraft importation activities and regulatory compliance reviews. 
  • Coordinate documentation and technical requirements associated with aircraft import approvals.

Engineering & Technical Data Review 

  • Evaluate approved technical data and engineering modification approvals. 
  • Review repairs, alterations, STCs, engineering orders, and technical instructions for regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure technical documentation aligns with approved type design and operational requirements.

Airworthiness Compliance Oversight

  • Perform AOMA Certificate of Acceptance compliance reviews. 
  • Ensure continued compliance with aircraft type design requirements. 
  • Monitor continued airworthiness status and technical conformity of aircraft. 
  • Support aircraft continued airworthiness compliance audits and assessments. 

Operational Capability & Suitability Support

  • Conduct aircraft equipment operational capability audits and suitability evaluations. 
  • Assess aircraft operational configuration and compliance with operational requirements. 
  • Provide technical support regarding aircraft capability and operational suitability. 

Sales & Management Technical Support

  • Support Aircraft Sales and Management department transactions from a technical and regulatory perspective. 
  • Provide technical evaluation support related to aircraft acquisitions, transitions, leasing, and sales activities. 
  • Coordinate technical due diligence activities as required.

Cross-Functional Coordination 

  • Coordinate activities across Maintenance AMO, Maintenance Control, Quality Assurance, Flight Operations, and external organizations. 
  • Liaise with OEMs, engineering organizations, regulatory authorities, and approved maintenance organizations. 
  • Support technical investigations and engineering-related operational initiatives.
Requirements
  • College diploma or technical education in Aircraft Maintenance, Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Management, or related field.
  • Experience in continued airworthiness, engineering support, technical records, or maintenance control (AME M1/M2 preferred).
  • Experience with aircraft technical documentation, engineering modifications, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience within a CARs-regulated air operator environment
  • Business aviation experience considered an asset
  • 5 years of Aviation experience
  • Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and continued airworthiness principles
  • Knowledge of aircraft certification basis, type design requirements, and approved technical data
  • Familiarity with STCs, engineering orders, repair approvals, and aircraft records management
  • Understanding of maintenance tracking systems and aircraft technical documentation
  • Good communicator in English and French
  • Computer proficient
  • Customer Service oriented
