Job description

Position Summary

Freight Forwarder Imports is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient importation of goods by air, including securing customs release and delivery to the final destination. This role involves coordinating with multiple parties, including airlines, customs agents, and trucking companies, and requires strong organizational and communication skills.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •    Manage the importation of goods by air, including securing customs release and delivery to the final destination
  •    Efficient “break down” of consolidated freight shipments into house airway bills while ensuring accuracy of shipment data and AMS details.
    •    Communicate with airlines, customs agents, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of goods
    •    Track shipments and provide updates to customers as needed
    •    Prepare and submit required documentation to Customs Brokerage team (internal and external), including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork
    •    Manage relationships with customers and provide customer service
  •    Handle accounting processes as they apply to the break bulk department - prints invoices for HAWB amends incorrect air freight rates, transfer fees; revises prepaid/collect charges , files claims in case of damaged goods.
  •    Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

  •    Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field
    •    Experience in Imports is highly desirable
