Job Description

Working with the Redevelopment Office Team, other Halton Healthcare staff and external consultants, the Project Manager, Equipment & Asset Management will be responsible for managing a wide range of planning activities and projects related to the planning, selection, procurement and redeployment of equipment and furniture for the implementation of the ongoing operational needs at all Halton Healthcare sites, and the implementation of the Master Plan. This will include review, analysis and evaluation of drawings and specifications and obtaining input and feedback through focus groups and individual consultation. The Project Manager provides project management to the Equipment & Asset Management team, and will lead projects relating to the design, procurement, delivery, installation and acceptance of equipment and/or furniture. This position will also be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the EAM department’s policies and processes.

  • In collaboration with users, construction teams (including architects/designers, etc.), vendors, and colleagues on the Redevelopment Team, leads the planning, procurement, installation of Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment in all Halton Healthcare Capital Projects.
  • Lead and coordinate, through multiple venues and media, communication between end-users, consultants and, if applicable, construction team, to ensure client and Hospital objectives are met throughout the equipment planning process.
  • Organizing and coordinating specifications and tenders to ensure documents reflect the scope and requirements of the Hospital including review and evaluation of complex contracts and other documents related to equipment planning and procurement. 
  • Work with procurement agencies in the development of procurement processes and contracts related to equipment advisors, consultants and suppliers. Ensure alignment of expectations between Halton Healthcare and procurement agency/agencies and/or vendors.
  • Implement processes and stakeholder engagement strategies, to ensure that the appropriate equipment is available to operationalize capital projects in alignment with project parameters.
  • Monitors and reports on project equipment spending to ensure budget and cash flow limits are not exceeded.
  • Participate in the evaluation of furniture and equipment and ensure constant involvement of users and physicians.
  • Maintain the established standardization of equipment (where appropriate), furniture and processes across all sites, in accordance with the policy.
  • Works in a self-directed manner to manage a portfolio of complex corporate wide-projects across varying areas of expertise, as defined within the overall context of the project plan.
  • Manage in the monitoring and tracking of complex projects, including decisions, deliberations, and activities. 
  • Development of correspondence, reports and presentations on a wide variety of topics suitable for internal and external stakeholders.
  • In collaboration with other members of the Redevelopment & Facilities team, ensure all equipment and asset management activities are managed, coordinated and meet required standards.
  • Participates in administrative and corporate responsibilities that support and advance HHS goals.
Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Health/Life sciences, Engineering or Business Administration or recognized equivalent. 
  • Project Management Professional designation or Certificate or relevant experience. 
  • Lean/process improvement Certificate or relevant experience.
  • A minimum of three years related hospital experience required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills. 
  • Must have project management or clinical equipment and furniture coordination experience in a redevelopment project within the last 5 years. 
  • Must have experience in the selection, specification, and/or procurement of hospital equipment and furniture within the last 5 years. Preferably on projects with an equipment budget greater than $50 million. 
  • Must have experience and familiarity in reading specifications, equipment cut sheets, architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Experience in preparing and writing reports, specifications and RFP’s.
  • Experience in AutoCAD preferred.
  • Experience with CMMS preferred. 
  • Self-motivated, work independently and integrate well as a member of a variety of teams
  • Liaise with a broad range of individuals from clinical and professional staff to external stakeholders
  • Verbal, written communication and presentation skills essential
  • Interpersonal and conflict management skills and has a positive outlook
  • Organizational, conceptual and strategic thinking skills and abilities

Additional Information

Hours:  Monday to Friday – 7.5 hour day shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational requirements)

Salary: $54.219 to $67.80 per hour
