Job Description

The Implementation Advisor will lead small to large multi-phase software implementation projects for municipal Building, Planning, and Community Development departments across North America. Working directly with local government staff, the Implementation Advisor will analyze permitting, licensing, inspection, and land-use workflows to design solutions that support efficient, transparent community development processes.


This role requires a strong ability to understand municipal operations, interpret business and data requirements, and translate them into effective system configurations. The Implementation Advisor will create and maintain project documentation, deliver training to end users, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes. They must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly communicate solutions while adhering to project deliverables and timelines. This is a Full Time Remote position, the successful candidate must live in Canada.


Responsibilities & Duties

  • Act as Project Manager on small to large multi-phase software implementation projects for municipal Building and Planning departments.
  • Plan, track, and communicate throughout the implementation lifecycle, managing project constraints to achieve client success objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to municipal clients, offering best-practice recommendations for permitting, inspections, planning workflows, and development review processes.
  • Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with planners, inspectors, permit technicians, and administrative staff to identify business objectives and operational needs.
  • Provide software demonstrations tailored to municipal permitting, licensing, and land-use management use cases.
  • Create and maintain configuration, testing, process, and project documentation; configure model components based on municipal workflow analysis.
  • Analyze data sets related to permits, inspections, parcels, and planning applications to determine optimal configuration and migration strategies.
  • Deliver both synchronous and asynchronous end-user training for municipal staff, remotely or onsite as required.
  • Develop detailed written technical specifications for data imports/exports, custom routines, and support issues.
  • Utilize internal Project Management Software to manage the lifecycle of each implementation and prepare project reports and status updates.
  • Understand PSD's product release and patch process and plan for potential impacts on municipal clients.
  • Participate in team status meetings, review JIRA tickets, collaborate on solutions, and prioritize requirements.
  • Escalate client issues to appropriate team members to ensure timely resolution.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role implementing complex software modules or municipal technology solutions.
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, GIS, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2+ years experience applying standard software implementation techniques in a client-facing role, preferably with municipal or public-sector clients.
  • 3-5 years experience with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud software environments and intermediate to advanced proficiency with modern technologies such as Google Suite, JIRA, Kantata, etc.
  • Experience working with municipal clients-especially Building, Planning, or Community Development departments-is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with large data sets, including permitting, parcel, or land-use data.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and presentation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster strong client relationships and guide municipal teams through change.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Valid driver's license and passport for travel.
