Job Summary

The Senior Immigration Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of the company's immigration program for associates. This role ensures compliance with immigration laws and regulations, supports associates through visa and work authorization processes, and partners with HR, Legal, and business leaders to create a seamless experience for global talent mobility.

The incumbent in this position will act as the primary point of contact for immigration-related matters within the organization. The position requires strong collaboration across recruiting, HR, and business teams to develop and execute immigration strategies that support hiring and mobility needs globally. The person in this role will also be responsible for managing Acuity's US work authorization program and will partner with our HRIS team on our electronic I-9 and E-Verify solutions. We're looking for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, communicates with clarity and confidence, and enjoys solving complex compliance challenges with precision and care.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's internal immigration policies and procedures.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in immigration law and policy, advise leadership on potential impacts, and develop and implement changes necessary in response to changes.
  • Partner with recruiters, HR business partners, and business leaders to create and implement individualized immigration strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for associates navigating immigration processes including H-1B, TN, L-1, and permanent residency cases.
  • Collaborate with external immigration counsel to ensure timely and accurate processing of immigration matters.
  • Manage visa and work authorization documentation, including preparing business travel letters, preparing other support materials, and responding to general immigration inquiries.
  • Conduct informational sessions and develop resources to educate associates and managers on immigration policies.
  • Oversee and coordinate the annual H-1B cap filing process.
  • Track immigration status, visa expirations, and renewal timelines to maintain continuous work authorization.
  • Conduct and oversee right-to-work compliance, including Form I-9 completion, reverification and retention and E-Verify processing for all US associates.
  • Conduct audits to ensure ongoing compliance and develop and provide training to company representatives with right-to-work compliance responsibilities.
  • Partner with HRIS to investigate, resolve, and perform follow-up tasks on complex I-9 system and data related opportunities as needed.
  • Partner with international HR teams on cross-border mobility and compliance issues.
  • Provide regular updates and metrics to leadership on immigration and US work authorization program performance.
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives for the immigration and work authorization programs.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
  • 5+ years of HR compliance experience across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Master's Degree or legal experience highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with immigration laws and Human Resources best practices.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a global environment.
