About the Role

We are seeking a Mandarin Bilingual Immigration Law Clerk to join our team in Dallas, Pasadena or Santa Ana.

The ideal candidate will have foundational experience or strong interest in immigration law and will be comfortable supporting case preparation in a fast-paced legal environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients.

In this position, you will work closely with attorneys and paralegals to assist with preparing filings, organizing supporting documentation, tracking deadlines, and maintaining accurate case records. You will also support client communication, helping ensure timely and professional interactions throughout the lifecycle of each case.

This position is intended for candidates seeking a long-term opportunity with the firm. We are looking for individuals who can commit to at least one year in the role and who are interested in developing into an Associate Attorney with the firm over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research on statutes, case law, and immigration regulations to support case strategy and attorney decision-making
  • Draft, revise, and proofread legal documents, motions, client declarations, and correspondence under attorney supervision
  • Prepare and file applications, motions, and supporting documentation before EOIR and USCIS in compliance with applicable requirements
  • Accurately prepare immigration forms and ensure all filings meet procedural and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in preparing case files for hearings, filings, and client consultations, ensuring all materials are complete and well-organized
  • Review discovery and case-related documents, and prepare concise summaries for attorney review
  • Maintain accurate and organized physical and electronic case files while ensuring strict confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Communicate with clients, as directed by attorneys, to gather necessary information, provide case updates, and clarify documentation requirements
  • Serve as a client liaison, ensuring inquiries are addressed promptly, professionally, and with a client-first approach
  • Monitor Immigration Court deadlines, track case progress, and support timely filings to ensure compliance
  • Provide additional legal and administrative support to attorneys and the broader legal team as needed

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a Juris Doctor program (2L/3L) or recent JD graduate (required)
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin (required)
  • Previous experience in a U.S. immigration law firm (required)
  • Previous experience using legal client management software (preferred)
  • Authorization to work in the United States (required)
  • Strong academic record and excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Genuine interest in immigration law and a desire to learn and contribute
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage multiple deadlines
  • Professional demeanor, with strong communication and client service skills
