Job description

This is a fully onsite role. 


Paralegal who provides paralegal support for the immigration functions of the Legal Department.

The Paralegal performs jobs responsibilities within the framework of established immigration procedures, policies and standards, working closely with and under the direct supervision of the Assistant General Counsel - Immigration.  The immigration paralegal supports the Legal Department’s processing of employment based nonimmigration and immigrant visa matters; assists with the preparation and processing of legal documents including H-1B, L-1, TN and PERM labor certifications;  assists with the preparation and processing of immigrant visa petitions; provides updates on case status and coordinates with regard to visa processing requirements with the employees, outside counsel, PHMI and BMSI departments, Prime Healthcare hospitals/entities, and other stakeholders.

Required qualifications:

  1. Associates degree in paralegal studies.
  2. Prior business immigration law experience.
  3. Familiarity with and experience in procedural and processing requirements for various types of non-immigrant visas and applications particularly H-1B, L-1, and TN; and immigrant visa petitions including PERM labor certifications.
  4. Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook and a document management system.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, English, Political Science or related field.
  2. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in law firm or company as a business immigration paralegal.
  3. Paralegal certificate preferred.
