Job description

JOB TITLE:IEP Coordinator

REPORTS TO:Director of School Program

HOURS/STATUS:Full-Time/Exempt, 10-month , desired start date 8/24/26

SALARY RANGE: $65,000-$70,000 based on experience

JOB SUMMARY

It is the responsibility of the IEP Coordinator to assist the Director of School Program in serving as liaison to the committees on special education in accordance with its stated purpose and within the general policies of the agency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in classroom team meetings as scheduled monthly.
  • Provide ongoing professional development based on the needs of school staff to include IEP development, goal writing, data tracking and any updates from the State Education Department.
  • Conduct clinic audit (2 books per clinician) 1x per year (Nov). Review peer audits by the 20th of the month completed to ensure correction of errors. (June, December)
  • Ensure all staff have completed the IEP acknowledgement form (State Ed 407 form) within the first week of student attendance or change in IEP based on anniversary date meetings.
  • Chair CSE meetings for students in the program. Program Director and Assistant Program Director will assist as needed. (vacations, emergency meetings, etc.)
  • Communicate with District Special Ed departments regarding concerns with the IEP and service provider absences.
  • Coordinate and attend preCSE team meetings including transition meetings.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, distribution, and filing of quarterly progress reports with administrative assistant.
  • Serve as a member of the intake committee.
  • Oversee NYSAA training and implementation in conjunction with the Program Director.
  • Attend regional meetings and trainings through BOCES regarding special education, and transition.
  • Must be sensitive to the cultural diversity of others and facilitate trusting relationships and partnerships with board members, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Candidates for this position will have: the ability to demonstrate and provide examples of continuous personal development and improvement; a student focused attitude; Communication skills (verbal and written); Problem solving skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/projects.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    Master's degree in special education or a clinical discipline and a minimum of six years of experience. The IEP Coordinator must have the ability to effectively lead a team of professionals, must be competent and proficient with current technological methods and must have exemplary communication, organizational and facilitation skills.
