Job description

Overview
The Diagnostic and Prescriptive Specialist coordinates compliance with Maryland State assessment regulations and administration procedures; and facilitates IEP development and annual IEP team meetings.

Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
  • Maintains and/or monitors compliance with federal, state, and local IEP requirements.
  • Correspond with Maryland State Department of Education representatives regarding all routine matters related to Maryland State assessment regulations and administration procedures.
  • Assists Teachers and related service providers in the development of appropriate IEP goals and objectives and proofs IEPs before they are submitted to the Principal.
  • Schedules and facilitates annual IEP team meetings with local school system representatives and distributes meeting schedules to the treatment team.
  • Maintains IEP, assessment, annual meeting, and state testing tracking forms for quality assurance purposes and provides copies to the Principal.
  • Order sufficient test materials, ensure test security and return any physical test materials by the required deadline.
  • Coordinate with IT any required components to state assessments completed online.
  • Complete annual testing as needed to capture Present Levels of Academic Functioning.
  • Maintain and/or monitors compliance with federal, state, and local IEP requirements.
  • Maintain state testing tracking forms for quality assurance purposes and provide copies to the Principal.
  • Attend trainings and meetings as required.
  • Coordinate compliance with Medical Assistance billing and Autism Waiver service provision in conjunction with the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Review client files on a quarterly basis to access service plan implementation, progress towards desired outcomes, and future appropriateness of service plan.
  • Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards.
  • May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete company vehicle training.

Qualifications
Master's Degree preferred and at least 3 years' experience in special education including experience with state assessments. Must be eligible for and must obtain a valid Maryland State Department of Education certification within 60 days of hire.
