Job description

Gelato Ice Cream Maker

Premier and fast-paced gelato shop in downtown St. Petersburg is looking for a person to make gelato (ice cream). We have award-winning flavors, with high ratings on Google and Trip Advisor. Seeking someone with passion, creativity, and taking pride in their work. Time management skills and a strong sense of independence are necessary for this role.ย  Must be willing to work on your feet for the entire shift, lifting buckets of milk, etc. We have two machines for making gelato and all top-of-line equipment that must be handled with care.
The duties are:
  • Use a batch freezer to make gelato.
  • Inventory control.
  • Work with batch freezer, blast freezer, etc.
  • Assist in other preparations of desserts and beverages that are prepared in-house.
  • Thorough cleaning of station and equipment.

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Must be dedicated and dependable.
  • Servsafe Certified or willing to be certified.
  • Knowledge or understanding of making frozen desserts is helpful.
  • Previous line cook, baker, chef, or sous chef ideal for this position.

Compensation:
  • $19 per hour which includes $15/hour plus credit card tips which are usually a minimum of $4/hour.

Must be available to work weekends and nights. Shifts are usually 8-3, 3-10.
Must be available to work holiday weekends and seasons, we are closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
