Position Overview
This opportunity is suited to an experienced professional seeking a technically focused I&E Planner position within an industrial maintenance and project environment. The role is centred on developing detailed work plans, supporting safe and efficient execution, and coordinating closely with maintenance, operations, contractors, and scheduling teams. Role Context
This role is based within an industrial environment supporting instrumentation and electrical maintenance, turnaround, shutdown, and project work. The position works across field execution and planning activities, with close interaction between operations, maintenance, contractors, supervisors, and schedulers.
Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed job plans covering scope, task sequencing, labour requirements, estimated hours, materials, equipment, and cost estimates.
  • Create and maintain project and maintenance schedules, including look-ahead schedules and progress updates.
  • Prepare work packages with safety requirements, repair procedures, drawings, specifications, and execution details for field teams.
  • Identify critical path activities and support schedule optimisation and resource planning.
  • Coordinate planning activities in line with turnaround, safety, quality, and site requirements.
  • Work closely with schedulers, supervisors, and execution teams to monitor progress and resolve planning issues.
  • Update plans to reflect approved scope changes, change orders, and additional work.
  • Coordinate multi-craft activities and contractor resources to support efficient execution.
  • Support turnaround and maintenance events by tracking progress, stewarding schedules, and improving plan effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance work execution.
Requirements
  • Experience planning instrumentation and electrical maintenance, turnaround, shutdown, or project work in an industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling, critical path methodology, and resource coordination.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work procedures.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with SAP, Maximo, or other CMMS systems preferred
