Job description

Responsibilities:

The Director of Sales responsibilities includes the sales, marketing, and events Budget/P&L, revenue forecasting, advertising, marketing, developing and writing business plans, and ownership meetings. This role leads to the development and implementation of both short-term and long-term strategies in all sales, catering, and marketing channels to achieve the hotels revenue goals and increase market share performance. The priority of the Director of Sales is the event, which includes planning ahead of time and being able to step in when others fall.

Qualifications:

  • 6 years or more of progressive hotel Sales experience (preferably with Hyatt).

  • Hospitality/Tourism degree preferred.

  • History of opening hotels/previous hotel pre-opening experience is preferred.

  • Familiar with Hyatt sales operating systems preferred (Reserve and Opera).

  • Comply at all times with Hyatt standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

  • Demonstrated the ability to interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.

  • Relevant Sales/Event services experiences.

  • Flexible to work some nights and weekends when necessary based on business and staffing needs.

  • Results-driven, energetic, and focused.

  • Must be a caring leader that builds trust and engagement by cultivating genuine relationships.

  • Must be creative and strategic in developing marketing/advertising campaigns, as well as managing the various hotel social media platforms.

  • Innovative thinker that will challenge business processes and concepts in order to drive results.

  • Service-oriented style with professional presentation skills.

  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high-volume concepts, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service, and ability to improve the bottom line.

  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
