Job Number: 2026-00255
Department: Human Services
Division: Human Services CASA
Opening Date: 08/21/2026
Closing Date: Continuous
Description
Join our Snohomish County Human Services
Office of the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Division
Open to Internal and External Applicants
About the CASA Division:
The Snohomish County Office of the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) champions the best interests of children in the juvenile dependency court system, ensuring they are heard, supported, and empowered. We recruit, train, and support community volunteers who speak up for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or abandonment - because every child deserves to have their voice amplified, a forever home, and a bright future.
About This Position:
You would supervise our Program Coordinators - the staff who coach, guide, and support our volunteer advocates. Your work reaches children through them: you provide one-on-one support and guidance to each coordinator, and you keep watch over case compliance and quality across the program. When something cannot be resolved at the coordinator level, or carries risk to a child, a case, or the county, you and your coordinator work it through together - sometimes joining them in the conversation with the volunteer, sometimes carrying that conversation yourself - and you bring it to your Division Manager right away.
That takes strong systems and steady attention - case planning and monitoring, volunteer and child contact requirements, continuing education and eligibility tracking, and reliable data. It also takes knowing the rules that govern our work: Washington State RCWs, the
Superior Court Guardian ad Litem Rules (GALR), our MOU with DCYF, CASA Division policy, and National CASA/GAL Association standards.
Our supervisors share the full scope of this classification, and the Division Manager sets assignments based on what the program needs - so over time your work may also include public records, grant writing and monitoring, administrative functions, training, outreach and volunteer recruitment, or special projects. Your first assignment is a starting point, and there is room to broaden your experience as the program grows.
About You:
You care deeply about children, and your background exemplifies servant leadership - you have supervised teams, and the people who reported to you grew professionally because of it. You bring real experience with vulnerable populations and the systems that serve them.
You are a solutions-oriented problem solver who brings ideas forward rather than only concerns. You are tech-savvy and notice when a process could be smarter than it is - and you are comfortable making the case to your Division Manager first, then following through and seeing it done.
You work alongside your team and never ask anyone to do something you would not do yourself. You also know how to take charge - to give clear direction, to hold a standard, and to deliver a hard message with confidence and care. You notice good work out loud, and you believe supporting people and expecting a lot from them are the same act, not competing ones.
Our Commitment to Inclusion:
In alignment with our core values - Teamwork, Inclusion, Integrity, and Hope - we are committed to an inclusive work environment where all employees positively impact our culture every day. Inclusion is a pillar of our division at the structural level and in our daily work with children and families. We are committed to recruiting a team that reflects and honors our diverse community.
Important Position Requirements:
  • This is an on-site position and is not eligible for a remote or hybrid schedule. Daily in-office presence is expected. Being here is how you support your team, stay close to our volunteers, and work alongside the other supervisors and the Division Manager.
  • Evening and weekend work is an ongoing part of this role, not an occasional occurrence. Trainings, volunteer support, outreach, and staff supervision regularly fall outside traditional business hours. Our volunteers give their evenings and weekends to this work, and we meet them where they are.
  • A valid Washington State Driver's License, unrestricted except as to vision, is required prior to appointment.

Why Work Here?
You will see the direct impact of your work: coordinators developing into confident professionals, volunteers advocating well because they were well supported, and children reuniting with family or finding permanent, safe homes. We are home to Washington State's first Snoezelen multi-sensory environment within a CASA program - the CASA Wonder Room and Connections Center - and we are committed to growing our volunteer network so that every child who needs an advocate has one. This work is demanding, but for those called to it, it is profoundly meaningful.
What We Offer:
We are proud to offer an outstanding benefit package to employees and their dependents, including:
  • PERS retirement contributions
  • Excellent medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Long-term disability and life insurance
  • 40-hour work week; 11 paid holidays plus 2 bonus floating holidays
  • Paid sick leave and vacation

Recruitment Timeline:
This is a continuous recruitment to fill one (1) immediate vacancy and to create an eligibility registry for future Human Services Supervisor openings in the CASA Division. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and interviews will be scheduled with qualified candidates as they are identified, with first interviews anticipated to begin the week of August 31, 2026. This posting will remain open until the immediate position is filled and the registry is established.

  • Criminal History Screening
  • Child Abuse & Neglect History
  • Screening through the National Sex Offender Registry
