Job description

THE POSITION Step into a rewarding career with the Department of Human Services as a Human Services Licensing Representative. In this role, you will help protect the well-being of residents in personal care homes and assisted living residences. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to support providers and strengthen safety across the state.

You can make a difference by ensuring some of Pennsylvania's most vulnerable citizens are receiving the quality of care that they deserve. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position focuses on ensuring that personal care homes and assisted living residences follow state laws and protect the well-being of residents. The role involves fieldwork, collaboration, and careful review of important information.

As a Human Services Licensing Representative, you will perform the following duties: Conduct Inspections: Carry out initial, annual, interim, and provisional follow-up inspections to check compliance with state laws and regulations Investigate Complaints: Gather facts when complaints are received to determine whether facilities meet required standards Interview Stakeholders: Speak with residents, staff, families, and professionals to collect information about facility practices Review Records: Examine medical, legal, and program documents to assess compliance with regulations Provide Assistance: Offer guidance to facility staff on how to meet licensing requirements Support Relocation: Help coordinate resident moves from noncompliant homes to safe living arrangements Interested in learning more. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Travel throughout Somerset, Cambria, Blair, Bedford, Huntingdon, Fulton, Franklin, Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Cumberland, Adams, Dauphin, York, Lebanon, and Lancaster Counties is required. This position is home headquartered. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional experience gathering and analyzing information in a social service or law enforcement program, and a bachelor's degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
