THE POSITION
As a Human Services Program Specialist with the Department of Human Services, you take on a key role in assisting providers and supporting program operations. This position keeps you engaged as you answer questions, research issues, and ensure claims follow policy. You help maintain smooth processes across multiple systems and programs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports providers and program operations by researching issues, resolving claim errors, and guiding others through billing processes. It helps ensure that payments and procedures follow all regulations and system requirements. As a Human Services Program Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Provider Assistance: Support providers by answering questions, troubleshooting claim errors, and offering technical guidance
- System Research: Investigate issues across systems such as Provider Reimbursement and Operations Management Information System (PROMISe), Home and Community Services Information System (HCSIS), and Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) to ensure accurate claim processing
- Regulation Review: Examine policies, codes, and procedures to confirm compliance with state and federal requirements
- Issue Resolution: Identify, research, and recommend solutions to problems found in claims, reference files, or related systems
- Documentation Tasks: Prepare reports, maintain informational materials, and submit required updates to system files
- Meeting Participation: Represent the program in meetings, lead discussions, and provide subject matter expertise when needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:
- One year of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating human services, social services, health care services, or health care insurance programs.
